A 50 inch plasma would be a thing of dreams for the boys, our current (rented) one is a 47 (I think, it's a weird number) smart TV. That only just fits in the space though, so much so that we have to be careful how we open the front room door to avoid bashing the side of it, we have now put a wooden piggy CD rack by the side to protect it.
    ...

A modern LED tv will need only 25% to 50% of the power that an equivalent sized plasma needs, and that differential has been widening.

My plasma tv consumes 450W of power. It might be false economy to go down the plasma route.

... we can't even fit in a proper 3 piece suite!...

I think a 3 piece suite is a fallacy for most. One of those "lifestyle dreams" items ... but, imho, the arms take up far too much room for no purpose. I think they need a super sized room of 15'x15' minimum to even start to fit.

Growing up we had two separate rooms downstairs - one of them did have a 3 piece suite in, but nothing else. Even then the 3-piece was a bit of a "skinny build". If it'd been fully upholstered it'd have not fitted.

Suites these days are a LOT fatter than they used to be.

I know what you mean PN. We had to look for a two-seater sofa that was small enough to fit into the available space but still actually big enough for two people to sit on, and a skinny-armed armchair for me so we could get into the living room without having to squeeze past the armchair. :D

Sue I hadn't heard of Vocalzone! But will get some tomorrow, as I've been having problems with my voice for a couple of months. My throat is a bit sore but the GP said it looked fine :( Thanks for the tip :)

Hmm, I hope the male Nice People don't take offence at this, but it really made me laugh! (OH went shopping today! )

The good news is that while out shopping he got our lottery tickets checked at Mr S (he only does it every few weeks as there's usually a queue and he can't be bothered queuing). Two wins... First was a free lucky dip, so he's done that for this Wednesday. Second turned out to be £93!!! :j  :j

Is it the intention of the operators of the National Lottery to try and kill it off?

First they double the stake to £2; then they change the prize structure; then they add 10 more numbers to further reduce your chances.

I'm surprised they are sticking with decimal. Using Hex would greatly increase the numbers available. :(

My voice has been losing power. I was fairly softly spoken to begin with. I cannot voluntarily cough. Get puffed more easily and cannot call loud enough to get the dog to return to me ( he is selectively deaf anyway) in my case It is likely to be stroke related, so my physio has suggested I try one of these. http://www.powerbreathe.com/

I have one on order from amazon .Then it is down to me to use it to improve my breathing.

I need help to understand an asset class that is being proposed as part of an investment strategy. This class is new to me, is 10% of the sum I am investing. The IFA has explained it to me twice, but I still dont understand.

It is Structured Return do any NP have experience of these and can explain how they work in language suitable for the brain injured.

    Thanks
