If it's just 1 storey, I'd ask a handyman. If it needs scaffolding, then that may require a different approach.

It's the sort of thing my dad could easily sort for you if you lived closer. He does small building works. Spare parts are easily available and not v expensive if something does need replacing:

Yes ... if I knew what sort of little man to select from the list.

Handyman looks possible, as that covers some of what might be required.
Builder looks possible, as that covers some of what might be required.
But neither cover the total scope of what might be required.

Roofers, they do roofs in Summer and drains in winter.

It's not that simple, it's not just a blockage of the drain system from ground level down.... it's all the other stuff. Might be more 'minor/manual work' that a fella of that ilk's not really going to want to do.... faffing around taking the pipe down to get it all cleared out etc. And, I don't think the way the downpipe terminates is the best method, so might require a different endpiece or some minor adjustment or something.

Thank goodness that s0ddin' tree's gone.

I used them once when I was a tenant and found them to be cheap and excellent.

It turned out that we had a load of really bad limescale.

If you use a local bloke then you're running the gauntlet of shysters and incompetents.

I just looked up the etymology of 'running the gauntlet'. **Shudders**

It would have been my Dad's 75th birthday today. I don't do very well on 23rd December.

Try and invoke nice memories. It is hard, particularly hard on a birthday that they could have reached had things been different.

A 50 inch plasma would be a thing of dreams for the boys, our current (rented) one is a 47 (I think, it's a weird number) smart TV. That only just fits in the space though, so much so that we have to be careful how we open the front room door to avoid bashing the side of it, we have now put a wooden piggy CD rack by the side to protect it.

That's the problem with this house, the rooms are too blooming small for anything, we can't even fit in a proper 3 piece suite!

CK - Josh has the same problem, he damaged his throat in mid October and it is taking some time getting his higher range back. It is much improved to how it was though, at one point, he couldn't even talk let alone sing. Have you tried vocalzone? Does wonders for Josh.

Talking about Josh and singing, he has been asked to feature/guest sing for another band on a couple of tracks in a recording studio and possibly some gigs.

    Well done Josh!

He only had two teeth in his head. The reason? He rode his bike through the high Yorkshire Moors to take it to the menders......to get the brakes fixed! He rode straight into a dry stone wall at the bottom of a hill and his Grandma who 'didn't believe in doctors' put him to bed for a week.

He learned to swim by being chucked in the local reservoir.

He was the person more than anyone I've ever met that understood their own emotions.

I'm not feeling very happy today.

I think you understand your emotions pretty well, Gen.

I do, I learned from the best. It's a problem sometimes.
