It would have been my Dad's 75th birthday today. I don't do very well on 23rd December.
That's positive, actually. You have every right to mourn his passing, and it's good that you do, rather than sweeping it under the carpet. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Structured products can be anything, and the devil is in the details. As gen says, if you don't understand it don't invest.
There was a trend to sell these products to pensioners years ago. When the !!!! hit the fan, the press dubbed them precipice bonds, and the pensioners all got bailed out by the financial services industry. So, they did well out of it in the end, as they got the good returns during the good years, and were bailed out of the precipice fall later on. Those that lived long enough to get their compo and did not die from the worry. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
My first orphan Christmas we all got noro virus, so I didn't really notice it. Fortunately we did it relay fashion, not all together - we only had the one bathroom then! :eek:0

My grandmother-in-law used to do that. I could never understand why the back view was a few parallel sloping lines, until it was explained to me.
hope yours is straight.
At least it is money saving. I am sat here with foils around each nail, trying to removed gelled nails. Sounds like a good reason for me to remain a single occupant!
Gen, you dad sounds like the kind of man who really went for it. As well as the emotional awareness, I think you also have that quality. From everything you say, sounds like your children do too.0 -

I'm in a daze. Just finished paying most people before christmas. I am still waiting for one client to pay so I can pass on to another three people. Big companies don't realise that small companies use most of their payments to put food on people's tables. They have been asked nicely.
Now I'm waiting to flip into Christmas mode. I need to write a shopping list but my head is full of money stuff. I just want to switch off the laptop now but may or may not have to flip back.
I need a nap to brace myself for massive supermarket queues later.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
