I cannot sleep. Non RP visited today ( yesterday ) and spent entire visit telling me I was too hideous to go out these days and it was good I enjoyed gardening. RP agreed.
Fir is livid, I'm ok, not un centred just a bit annoyed. I wish I had the kind of oarents who thought the sun shone out of my ample backside!I think....0 -
Lir, I think it was cruel and unneccessary. You post regularly about your situation. It isn't as though you live in some dream world where everything is ok, rather you make the best of what is at times a bad situation and get on with it. That's my understanding anyhow.
Oh, and I didn't get a chance to mention it a few pages back, but I think you'd look lovely in the swimming costume and that it was very you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Bloody Ps. If someone said that to Mrs Generali they'd simply be told to eff off. No conversation just eff off.0

I'm not surprised fir is livid. What your Ps said is so far from true, but even if it was, what good would saying it do? And in YOUR home?
They don't know what they're talking about.
True. The phrase "if you can't think of anything nice to say, say nothing at all" comes to mind.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I never see the new site during these tests as I explained to Mse it triggered my neurological symptoms and I would have to stop using new site if it looked like that. Scrolling was impossible because of the light/dark situation creating 'flashing' type sensation. If its so difficult for me I thought it would be as difficult for others with some neurological problems, particularly epilepsy, other seizure/visual stimuli issues, and migraine sufferers.
I am really grateful Mse seem to have excluded me from tests etc from then on, but the feedback from them is that new sign up people will not be able to choose alternative skins. While my neurological problems are somewhat rare, suffering to neurological patients induced by flashing sensations like those induced by flashing of light against dark aren't so I hope they have a lower contrast background for new users. I was not opposed to the change or cleaner look. While I resist change by nature I agree this site looks a bit dated and could do with review. I just feel sad for anyone excluded or suffering especially since Mse have kindly acknowledged I have an issue with using the brighter, whiter site. I'm special, but not THAT special.
I don't think they are treating you as special. I never see the new trials either. I think that having selected "the old version" rather than "the latest version", we just get left on the the old version even when the latest version changes.I'm not surprised fir is livid. Well, exactly. You have said what I wanted to say so clearly.
Gen, glad you are safe. Take care.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

If fir were here it simply wouldn't happen. He wouldn't swear at them, nor raise his voice but neither would they be left in any doubt that they were in the wrong. He's very clever like that.
Michaels, its how my parents worked to push my abilities, and it agree its not always useful, though an element of it might have been. Last night I said I wish they thought the sun shone....and that's wrong, I do not wish that, not really. Parts of my education ( the extra curricular bits in particular) were with others who thought they were special because of their extra curriculars and I think I was very lucky not to be pandered to over that, for example.
I am aware I was an attractive young woman:D. I have 'proof' of it in many ways. And yet my parents never said it. My father considers me unattractive ( I look too much like my mother and have messy hair) and my mother thinks I do not look enough like her :rotfl:
When people said it to my mother, as they sometimes do/ did she accepts it as a compliment ( says I look like her to them :rotfl:) and then tells me that I was complimented and people are kind and its such a shame how I look now and of course I don't have quite her bone structure but people are kind nonetheless. ( I.e. They are wrong...but nice...)
Anyway, I'm ok about it. More annoyed it kept me awake..

. Good. My reference was really to other neuro people who join up and cannot select an alternative like this old version if the new version is triggery for them.....I cannot believe its just me who found this.
