I did that once in Morrisons. They couldn't have been nicer. They printed the receipt and put my trolley to one side. They even let me take the popcorn and coke I was planning to buy as I was on my way to take DD to the cinema. Doozer collected and paid for the shopping.

I said to them that I'm going to have to go to a meeting, and will sort it when I'm out.

They've offered to throw it into chilled storage until tomorrow night (although I'm hoping to get back today) so I can sort what I need to (such as the meeting I'm in now), get my wallet and get back down there.

It's just something really embarassing, especially when there's noone to ask for a bit of help on it.

Leaving home with £10 (which was reduced to £5 when I got there) obviously wasn't a good idea :(

Will catch up later, but Miss Doozer looks very fetching (not sure if it's the right word)

I know Lloyds do left handed cheque books, my sibling has one and has had for years (maybe almost forever/20+ years).

I used to struggle with a cheque book, again thought it was just me being clumsy or useless, never crossed my mind it was because I was a left handed person (hmm, in retrospect, maybe I am just ever so slightly ditzy and not the intelligent person I thought I was :rotfl:)

Kettles are the things which annoy me, they tend to have to be positioned in a right handed manner to see the measure. Years ago, I would do an awkward pick up with my right hand and then transfer over to my left shuffle but now I can't trust things in my right hand so have to do a contortionist move picking it up with my left...good thing I am hyper flexible in my wrists!

Or I shove the base around before picking the kettle up, usually sending tea bags, sugar pots etc flying in the process.

Or I could of course get myself one of those 360 kettles but I find they tend to last a couple of months before blowing up and being the cheap skate I am, I'd rather piddle fart around with being a contortionist that keep buying new kettles.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I didn't seriously just go to waitrose, do a weeks shop and find I left my wallet at home, did I?

I feel a complete idiot now....

Ask customer services to put the stuff to one side for you, and then dash home and get your wallet. When you get back, point out that they have not refrigerated all the stuff that should have been refrigerated, and ask for a discount. :D
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm more cack-handed than left or right. I'm more right-handed, I have a left-handed sibling and an ambidextrous one. But some things I am left-handed at (others have pointed out) and some things I can't quite get my head around.

My sink causes me consternations .... it makes my head confused every time I do the washing up and I have to really THINK through every action. I really need the draining board to be to the left of the sink as I hold the item in my left hand and the sponge with my right... I think this is the sink's fault though and I am washing up right-handed.

Filling the kettle's a nuisance too - it's got a see-through strip down it so you can see the water level. The trouble with this is that I hold it with my left hand under the tap, then use my right hand to turn on the water tap to fill it up ... and then the see-through strip is facing the wall, so I have to "guess by weight" whether there's enough water to have reached the minimum level or not.

I think these sink issues are about the sink being left-handed ..... and I am a right-handed person trying to use it.

I know just what you mean about the kettle! When I need to buy a new one I make sure to find one with a clear strip on both sides.

Washing up - I hold the article in my right hand, sponge or brush in the left....and then put the washed article on the left-hand draining board :o Not sure why, it just feels odd the other way!

ETA I seem to recall reading somewhere that the only common article that's easier to use for a left-handed person than a right-handed person is the sewing machine. I'd certainly find it very difficult to use if it was the other way round, IYSWIM.

Am I the only one who opens the hinge lid of the kettle to fill it as it fills much quicker without splashing?
You're crossing yourself to get to the left. I cross myself to get to the right.

I wonder which is left-handed or right-handed .... does the dominant hand hold the dish or the sponge.

Hmm - the NP seem to be a sinistre lot compared to the general population - I am fully right handed but one of only 2 of five siblings who are 'normal', both parents right handed but possibly my father is by diktat rather than nature. I do however kick with the wrong foot but ride a snow / skate board regular not goofy.
    I think....

Not me. I bought a fancy kettle a couple of years ago which has one of those soft open/close hinges on the lid. As a result it is quicker to fill through the spout. IIRC I bought it to celebrate kicking cancer in the butt.

It is a very nice kettle though. It makes a very pleasing 'ping' when it boils.

I woke up at 5am with an ache in my back. :( Never mind, at least the kitchen is cleaner and closer to moved in to.

I've mentioned before, I'm the only righty in my family. Mum writes left handed only because she was forced to, but does everything else left handed. Dad and bro are both lefties. I even married one.
