I find if you ring up and say I might have misplaced my card it is cancelled before you can say 'so please could you put a hold on it until I get home to check'. Then again I have also had them making every attempt to deny my genuine train ticket purchases just because I have quoted Spirit and ChewMyLegOff's credit card details.....
    I think....

calling him every day for weeks until my issue was resolved !!

Interestingly, my issue was pushed to the top of the pile !

You have to become a nuisance!

I am sure that is true.

I am not sure I currently have the resilience at present. I am still facing an uphill task with the DVLA, further cardiac MRI and ongoing rehab. That feels like enough battles to be going on with.

I figure that I have made the transaction known and that will go a long way to limiting my liability for further losses.

Just got into the office, had a lovely attempt at blackmail already this morning.

Apparently few days ago I promised someone I'd pay something (amounting to less than £100, but there), and when the invitation has been politely declined, been told that I'm 'always saying there's no money' and 'don't want to do anything'.

I won't be blackmailed, nor will I be guilt tripped. It's one of DD2's friends in Georgia, and after this morning, all contact will be severed.

Most people know my attitude; if you want it, you earn it. It still stands.

This is someone I've given the chance to earn some money a number of times, and each time been turned down.......

My transaction is now disputed and card cancelled. Apparently the retailer has to agree to refund me!

In other news there is the body of a dead deer on the verge outside my neighbours house. Quite a large Roe.

Road kill. Not sure how the remains will be removed. We used to have a local forestery commission warden resident nearby who was a helpful chap, not seen him in a couple of years though.

Will the local hunt collect it, to feed to the hounds?

Or call Sarah Palin, and ask her to dress it for you.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Isn't that called "Organic, Free Range Venison: Perfect for that Xmas touch of luxury"?

    How big's your freezer?

If it's fresh I'd have a go at it.

My mate hit a red deer years ago and I put it in my boot and took it to his Dad who was a butcher. Sadly he'd ruptured the bowel so only one leg was edible.

Venison is delish. My mate did us Sika stew last time I was over. Blimey that was good.

I think officially if you hit it and then pick it up it is theft but if the car in front hits it it is road-kill and first come first served.

A friend whose best mate was a gamekeeper told us this too.

I'm not sure what the ruling is if you hit a deer with the car, and wound it but not fatally, and then go round the block to have another go!

Our dog Lottie enjoys eating deer antlers, but luckily she doesn't know where we keep the car keys...
