Having commute home from hell. Old car still off road. Left work at 6pm and due to problems on road network next bus not due to gone eight. Standing at unsheltered bus stop, in rain, under a tree that is being battered around. Hoping to be home about 8.40. I could have walked it quicker if the paths and lanes were lit.
#fedupPlease stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Going out for my normal run yesterday evening was challenging to say the least !
Being blown into the path of traffic is not the idea really. It's worse at the higher elevations.
So much for the makers' claims that my running jacket is windproof...(marketing rubbish methinks).0 -

What lovely NPS
Only 'cos its you, if PN had asked for a lift I would have said 'on your bike'
This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you live in inner Herts and PN is 100 miles away before anyone questions my motivation....I think....0 -

Poor viva, i hope you're warm and dry now!
michaels That was lovely of you to offer viva a lift :A What a nuisance about the toothbrush heads - such a good price! I suppose they were more popular than expected.
I've booked a haircut tomorrow. Not looking forward to it at all....the girl who usually does it is fully booked all week, and I'm desperate as I'm having problems washing and rinsing it (painful arm), haven't had it cut since May and need it to be quite a lot shorter than it was then, but other than that I haven't a clue what I want done with it (NO, Pastures, not a Mohican. Or a skinhead. Or a mullet.)0 -
My transaction is now disputed and card cancelled. Apparently the retailer has to agree to refund me!
In other news there is the body of a dead deer on the verge outside my neighbours house. Quite a large Roe.
Road kill. Not sure how the remains will be removed. We used to have a local forestery commission warden resident nearby who was a helpful chap, not seen him in a couple of years though.
It may be late, but if no one is interested in eating it, if it is on public land then the local authority are obliged to remove it.
We had the biggest dead badger at the side of our drive - I called the council and it was gone within the hour.
If it wasn't on public land, I'd have found someone friendly to shove it over the boundary.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I also need the TV on more loudly these days. :rotfl:
Who said that?! (I'll get me coat ... )So much for the makers' claims that my running jacket is windproof...(marketing rubbish methinks).
Surely it is windproof - the wind doesn't go through it, and it turned you into a sail ;-)
I'm down in Inner Herts at the moment as, sadly, my Dad had another bleed / stroke 10 days ago and died in hospital last Thursday. It was very peaceful (he never regained consciousness) and I think we had time to prepare for the inevitable. My brother and I both managed to travel down on the day of the second stroke, and I'm still here with Mum.
We are at the funeral director's and the registrar tomorrow, then I go back home on Wednesday for a week or so. Work have been great about the time off.
At the moment it isn't real - it's as if he's just away on a school trip or similar - so the emotion hasn't really sunk in yet. Doubtless that will come at some point.0 -
Sorry to hear about your crappy commute viva. I guess I shouldn't mention that mine involved a 20 minute drive to the ferry in moderate traffic and then 40 minutes sitting on a ferry in the beautiful morning sun. I refrained from waving at the people that had been abandoned by a broken down bus.
Gonna be scorchio here today. 37C and sunny. I have brought shorts to work for the commute home. We will see if Sydney is ready for the sight of my short, hairy legs.
Pool news
I can now see the bottom of the ladder. It won't like this weather very much though.
Generalissimo Update
The Boy has to give his campaign speech today in an attempt to become a prefect. I believe this is step 143 of his campaign to Rule the Worrrrrrld.0
