If I'd known I'd have not gone out of my way each year to get them.
Oh Pastures, how sad. But I still think it was good you looked for them - even if your Mum didn't eat them she probably enjoyed getting them. IYSWIM.
We had to get "diabetic chocolates" for Mum every year - total rip off, no better than ordinary ones healthwise, but there you go. Actually I don't think I ever gave them to her, DDs did. But I'm a curmudgeon and was even back then! :rotfl:0 -
Good luck nailing some Fanny PN. I am hoping to do the same thing this evening.0

PasturesNew wrote: »Well, I'm finding no fanny so far.... the only explanation for this is that I am not gai, so have no starting point. I can therefore conclude that you ARE gai for having found fanny
I am trying to find fanny in 1891, so far I am now back in 1871 to follow two entire households - including a publican, his estranged wife, his floozy and their bunch of b4stards.... hoping that, somewhere, through 1881 and 1891 all these displaced people will end up living together - and maybe one of them actually bothered to use their proper name!
The b4stards have already changed their name between two censuses... from their illegitimate father's name, to their (now dead) mother's name. They didn't make it easy.
So, now it's back to finding fanny on the Internet for me.....
I will find her! I worked out what happened to Nelly (although an elephant's obviously quite easy to spot).
A side point for "what did people used to do" - no matter what the circumstances, a Judge in court would expect the husband/wife to live together. e.g. in this case, when the wife wanted supporting financially, the Judge's answer was for her to move back into the pub with her husband, his floozy and their b4st4rds.....
I've seen this quite a lot of times - couple in court, wife wanting a separation - and the Judge nearly always suggests they get over themselves and live under the same roof.
I am very unusually a male lesbian.
Interesting research you're doing.0 -
Nikkster hope you enjoyed the dinner party.
Gen, Enjoy an evening of peace. Is the pool full and in use yet?
Last night I cooked Gurnard for the first time. A really meaty white fish, that I had been wary of as it has a reputation for being hard to debone, however the fishmonger did it for me. It was mse too as it was relatively inexpensive.Served it with cannelini beans and spaghetti in a tomato sauce. We drank an Aldi Chablis ( which was very good) about £12 a bottle then a bottle of pouilly fume. The most I have drunk in a long time, I felt fine this morning.
Baked ( and scorched) an almond and cherry cake today. OH cooked duck breasts for dinner tonight. It was delicious.
We are out for lunch tomorrow the couple we are visiting are aged 31 and 36. They have 5 children and an 18 month old lab and a 9 week old puppy. I don't know how they cope and admire their energy and optimism.
They warned us today that their toddler has hand , foot and mouth.
We are still invited though.
We made a Black Friday purchase today... one we had planned.. we ordered our printed christmas cards cost £40 down from £50 incl delivery.
Chewie, good luck with your journey.0 -
In other news our oldest bunny Bearsie died this evening. He had been quiet today and not eaten much. I had been in charge of rabbits today until our daughter came home. DD was on the phone to the vet, when he seemed to fit and died.
She has 5 remaining bunnies.. and this evening is not the time to say no more rabbits.
When she moves out she will only have room for two bunnies at bf's house, so all others will remain here. They are expensive to keep.
They have had £600 of vets bills from October to November.
More important is that I want to get chickens again in the spring and want to save my cleaning out energy for them.0 -
Fraudulent transaction on our current account using my card. taking forever to get through to their fraud dept. This is after I had held on for ages to get into their triage system. It is a card not present transaction with a train company.
i want to go to bed. grrr
just got through.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »What is a "proper dinner party"? I've never been to a dinner party. Closest I've got to it is when my friend invites me round for a pie/mash dinner. There is a tablecloth on the table though - and she's got a table (so streets ahead of me).
I don't really know. This was my first one!
Three courses, choice of main (one vegetarian) and two desserts. Coffee and Ferrero Rocher. Everyone was too full for cheese.
I'm putting off being the next host as we'd have to sit on the floor or have plates on our laps or take turns at the table. And I only have plug in 2 ring hob and a mini oven (though guess I also have a slow cooker and a microwave. And plenty of takeaway leaflets!).
The bar was set a bit too high tonight!0 -

Is it actually possible to do a CNP transaction with a train company?
All mine (all with Greater Anglia) have definitely been present.....💙💛 💔0
