You'd be better off with wine although it's probably a bit early still over there.

Ok, seeing as you insist :)

When I was a student back in the 70s there was soya-stretched mince available, called TSP. Nutritious I suppose but as much fun as eating cardboard.

Tried to live on £3 per week on food (which wasn't much even back then) so you'd have packet mixes to make pizzas and cheesecakes. (you'd have six or more people sharing the same fridge so you couldn't stock up on chilled stuff either).

I looked at the Aldi 48in telly to replace the older 32in one in the front room.

I guess that qualifies as a Black Friday type thing.

Thing is, the old telly ain't broke. I feel uncomfortable treating electronics as a disposable like fashion clothes.

    Anyone else feel the same?

DD wants an iPhone 6 something to replace her iPhone 5S this Xmas. But the old one isn't broken?!

    Guess I'm getting old ;)

My contribution to Black Friday was to buy a bottle of wine with 1/3 off from the supermarket on the way home. I don't drink wine much, I hope OH enjoys her £3.30 bottle of wine...

On Wednesday next week we fly to Oz for a month. I am dreading the flight! Angry crawling, climbing baby who can nearly walk and flies into a rage if you try to stop her doing something will be with me because nice quiet baby refuses to be more than a foot away from mummy!

Or TV was 5 years old and still refusing to work less than 100% so when we decided we really wanted a bigger one we demoted it to the bedroom, demoted the bedroom tv to the kids room (not tuned in but available for casting, computer, dvd etc). My eyes are so carp we need big TVs everywhere.

    Rather you than me!

DD was an absolute angel as long as she was touching me in some way. I had to do housework wearing a sling. :o

On another thread I have been pointed in the direction of a black friday deal on a laptop that is predicted to go live between now and midnight.

Clicking refresh in the hope it goes live before I give in.

Apparently buying on Tesco direct means you can decide not to collect if you don't want it by delivery time.

That was my Black Friday bargain. Went live before 11.30pm. £279 down to £179.

Impressed that you take a month off work.

Sweet that twins have their own personality. Just think they can't escape from a plane even if they roam wild.

Mr T's had a 49' tV for £249, iot cheaper than aldi plus T-points. Too extravagant for us. But did get a Black Friday bargain of a 32' Blaupunkt TV for £99. It'll go in the son's room and his humungous CRT telly will go tot the tip at which pointy the tip will have to close as it'll be completely full.

Really stormy here. Just taken the dog for his constitutional, in case the weather gets worse later.

I was at the dump once, and somebody dumped a TV set that was way, way better than the one we had. Unfortunately, it was thrown into the skip before I said anything. So, we soldiered on with ours for another 7 or 8 years, until I upgraded a couple of years ago to one like the one you want to throw out.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
