Bought a new car today. The fact it was black friday was incidental, but I did buy it because there was a good offer. I don't want to say what at this point in time and it isn't anything fancy, I think Gen mentioned the brand a while back. Nice spec, not a lot of money.

The weather people have indicated things will get worse over the weekend.

True. We are in west Wales and it's pouring, expected to continue all weekend.

    Also no O2 reception. :(

    Rather you than me!

DD was an absolute angel as long as she was touching me in some way. I had to do housework wearing a sling. :o

Youngest was an angel as long as he was as far away as possible from everyone...he endured being held only for as long as it took to feed, any longer than that and he screamed the house down.

Took us a while to work it out though, we thought he had wind for ages and it was only when we were at the end of our tethers and we put him in his cot while he was screaming and before we completely lost it that we realised....he went quiet and to sleep almost immediately.

He was most def not a cuddle and pass around the family/friends baby unlike the other two.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Well, I got to the end of black Friday without actually purchasing anything that was part of it....I did do my normal Friday shop though but that shouldn't count because if I hadn't, we wouldn't have the roast for Sunday lunch.

Re tellies, the one downstairs is rented after ours went bang about this time last year, the one in my bedroom is an old 14 inch portable which doesn't work as the aerial isn't working. Youngest has a small tv in his room, a bargain I picked up about 3 years ago and in the boys bedroom is a TV James got in his first year at uni and which I then purchased from him last year as their big old telly finally gave up the ghost.

There is also a non working 14 inch portable in the kitchen too!

I'm not really that fussed about tv as you can probably tell. I would be happy with just the one working telly in the front room and to hell with all the other rooms, less of a distraction.

Thanks Gen. It isn't just my first new car this millennium, it's also my first different car this millennium as I got my Audi in 1999. Old car has been a remarkably good servant but starting to need expensive work which just isn't warranted.

I would have liked an Audi a1, but they discontinued the model I wanted and the next one up was significantly more expensive and overkill for what I need. Then when they got into all this trouble over emissions, the price seemed to go up again. So decided on something more modest and practical.

After taking off the amount I pay for tax and the cost if running a less fuel efficient car, it will cost me £90pm net.

I was offered a massive £60 trade in for my old car.

I was at the dump once, and somebody dumped a TV set that was way, way better than the one we had. Unfortunately, it was thrown into the skip before I said anything. So, we soldiered on with ours for another 7 or 8 years, until I upgraded a couple of years ago to one like the one you want to throw out.
Depending how many hours you have it on it might be worth checking power consumption as you may find a new energy efficient led of the 99 quid variety would pay for itself in a short time.

This was my one black friday 'bargain'

I'm glad you managed to get your laptop silvercar :)

DS surprised us with a gift of a call-blocker phone with three handsets, £30 off at Argos :j I've wanted one for ages.

Just got to set it up now and put everyone-we're-happy-to-take-calls-from's phone numbers into its memory

I need to get the shed re-felted this weekend, probably Monday, as I don't want neighbour complaining about it......

I love trying new things, but would prefer if I could do it from behind a desk, on a computer :)
