I'm home alone...youngest is staying over at a friend's house for only the second time ever in his life, the first being about 6 weeks ago!
This house makes scary noises when there are no other noises from televisions, computers etc.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Burglars it is then. Unless you can hear the sound of a horn being played in which case it's buglers.0 -
Well done to him for giving it a go, Sue. Though sorry you had to get up and trek out to get him.
Two of mine couldn't manage a sleepover either. The other one was fine *baffled*. My eldest still finds sleeping away from her own home very stressful, and she's 40!0 -
We went to.a fireworks party for our nephews last night. At the party, the older nephew asked me why people joined ISIS. Tbh I did not have a clue what to say but DH answered it brilliantly.
Later on, he turned the conversation back to ISIS so we asked him if we was worried by them. He said "no, because I don't live in London".
It is so sad that children have worries like this. Goodness only knows how big the fear multiplier would be if I was having that conversation with a nine year old in Syria.
It was very sobering. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I remember in my early teens being asked in English class where I thought I'd be when I was 40 and I thought I'd be in a post nuclear war world, scrapping to be able to feed myself.
Maybe that's how we see the world at that age.0 -

In the late 80s my students still had the idea that the world could very well just disappear as soon as some crackpot pressed the wrong button. They had no confidence they'd definitely be around in the next five years or that if they were, the world would be anything more than a mess of rubble.
Our current threats are far more survivable (at least physically but I worry about culturally). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I'd be willing to shoot someone for a tin of beans if the Generalissimos were starving I suspect.0
