Have DVLA given a reason for refusal?
When you aren't allowed to drive for a while, and then are told you can, you look forward to that date - but then to have it snatched away must be horrible!

Stroke.( Dr written to say I am medically fit and meet the standards for driving)
    lessons, (had/having) those.
    adaptations( done )

It seems like they have over interpreted everything to the worst, or otherwise I have an over inflated view of my capability. Am now contacting my Dr, driving instructor, physio, car adaptor, driving assessment centre, to get letters in support of me driving or advice of what I need to do .

    Another Gem.

I have an appointment for a cardiac stress MRI.

May need another angiogram and more stents as my last procedure showed more blockages but they could not be deal with then.

If my heart is perfusing well enough then procedure may not be required yet, Hence Stress MRI to diagnose current status.

Last procedure went well, eventually. A c o c k up meant i went down for the procedure, there was confusion about how it was going to be done and I had been prepped for route that was not suitable for me. On the table the cardiologist asked me " what I wanted to do?"
I asked him what would he want if it was his wife in this predicament? He replied" the safest way, so go back to the ward and start again tomorrow" I said that's what we'll do.

Didn't fill me with confidence. I spoke to a friend who was awaiting news of my progress, and she arranged for a Cardiologist mutual friend to call me that afternoon, he spoke to me, and offered to take over my care or to talk to those looking after me. He had trained some of them. I stayed put and the next day had the Angiogram and stents, but was told mid procedure I may need more work that could not be done that day.

back on the ward,I told the local cardiologists about my loss of confidence in them, the poor communications that had led to the confusion. I believe that ff I did not speak up how would they learn? my Cardiologist friend said not all patients would have the presence os mind to ask the question I did. Or to challenge Consultants who have your life in their hands.
Not sure who I will let "do" further work. Stress MRI is at nearest teaching hosp, where i had my Cabg and where i am happiest for Cardiac care.
Another little rant. guess i am just offloading because I am fed up "tackling things" I wish I could over-ride my pre-set approach of "being reasonable". A good cry and feeling sorry for myself would help, but I just can't do it. nearly did when the post came today but still not quite managed it.

I just wondered how heavy a shed is.... I'll look it up at some point. I've an 8x6 that I've decided is in the wrong place... and, ultimately, sometime in the next 2-3 years I'd like to move.

So I got to wondering how you do it:
    - get it taken apart, moved, reconstructed
    - maybe hire a small forklift to move it as it is.

I was standing outside and suddenly thought.... I wonder if you affixed four large/strong handles to the four corners if four people could simply walk it the required 25'

I do think up some bizarre ideas sometimes.... or do I? I think four handles (not four candles, or fork handles) might just work ...

EDIT: Found this: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/733363 - quite a few great ideas there. One had wheels fitted, another created a conveyor belt by using rods of wood, taking them from the back and putting them to the front....

Empty, it could well be a few hundred kilos. To get an idea , try levering up one side. That's a good reason for dismantling it into smaller pieces.

You'll need To construct a new base for it.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

My opinion is that you need someone else to kick a** for you. As you know, I have had the same problems as you in the past up to and including the CABG.
I, too have been programmed to be "nice" and not to cause trouble. You need to be able to kick and scream and maybe surprise people who think "isn't she marvellous" and "isn't she coping well".
Can Mr. Spirit help at all, especially with tackling the "bureaucracy"? If you are anything like me, you don't like to ask for help but sometimes it might be best.
In your situation I would probably want to go back to cardiac unit in which I had confidence. That will relax you more and give you confidence in the outcome.
    My opinion anyway!

Sorry to hear that things are on a downer.

I have one relative and one friend currently being denied their driving licences due to health issues (or non-issues in their eyes). They both find this extremely distressing beyond my normal expectation of their behaviour.

Oh Spirit, how horrid! I do hope that the professionals who have been helping you are able to persuade DVLA that you are actually capable of continuing your lessons and that you get your licence back.

Hope the cardiac stuff goes OK. You just seem to have so much to deal with at present. Not fair! Hugs from Liverpool.

Are you still on a visa, or have you applied for citizenship? If you are on a visa, you need to be rather careful to behave well.

"A British citizen who has spent 50 of his 51 years in Australia, who served in the Australian army reserve, and whose partner, siblings and elderly parents are in Australia, is being held on Christmas Island facing deportation for lighting a scrub fire."

    http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2015/nov/12/british-citizen-in-australia-for-50-of-51-years-faces-deportation-for-scrub-fire

Christmas Island sounds really nice - I expect the staff are delightful people who say "yohoho" all the time and smile a lot.

I would like to apply for citizenship but a minor and inadvertent visa breach (my right of exit is temporary whereas my right of entry is indefinite) means that the clock is bag to day one and I have to wait for four years again to apply. Oh well.

TBH I have very limited sympathy for fire bugs. Yes on this occasion only an acre was destroyed but it would have been perfectly possible for the fire to destroy homes and lives.

People being deported have not taken a Kit Kat from the corner store. I feel sympathy in general but it's a well known part of sentencing policy here. Bear in mind that this is the most sympathetic case they could find. I suspect that the majority of people there are murderers, rapists, wife beaters etc.. Even this bloke showed a callous disregard for the lives of others and he could have put in a plea of mitigation regarding the psychotic episode but either chose not to or wasn't believed by the court.

I realise that I sound harsh but if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. If you want to understand the severity of what he did, look up Black Saturday. The bushfires in the Blue Mountains a couple of years back were started deliberately. They killed a couple of people and destroyed tens of homes along with mementoes and memories.

    Can you provide details?

Sounds like something a few people might need to be aware of...
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
