Nice one Spirit. It is frustrating not being able to do the things you could, I experience it a lot with my back, but try to stay focused on the things you can now do like have cake. I like cake. Nom.

Great news, congratulations Spirit. Not only a great achievement, but sounds like you had fun too, rather than it being an ordeal.

Out of interest, how did you used to do your hair on the way to work? I'm imagining you on the 7.20 train with a hairdryer and a pair of hair straighteners in your handbag now you've said that.

I know, for me, it involved using the car heater on the dashboard on full to dry it :)

I solved the 'how to do the hair in minimum time on a work day' conundrum in a very simple way: I went bald.

Solved the 'hate shaving' thing via radiotherapy.

Now I just need to resolve the showing, brushing teeth and ironing a shirt things and I'll be hyper-efficient in the mornings.:D

Just wondering what you have to show every morning??
Ironing a shirt - could be outsourced or buy non-iron..

He probably showers each day, rather than shows.

Even if not outsourced, it's not clear why shirts are ironed in the morning, before going to work?

I agree that cakes are very nom, though.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Are you still on a visa, or have you applied for citizenship? If you are on a visa, you need to be rather careful to behave well.

"A British citizen who has spent 50 of his 51 years in Australia, who served in the Australian army reserve, and whose partner, siblings and elderly parents are in Australia, is being held on Christmas Island facing deportation for lighting a scrub fire."

Christmas Island sounds really nice - I expect the staff are delightful people who say "yohoho" all the time and smile a lot.

    How to spoil a party.

DVLA have refused my driving licence. Upset does not begin to describe how I feel.

I can appeal via the magistrates courts or have 3 months of lessons and another assessment.

I have to apply for a provisional disability licence if i want to have lessons.

    Woe is me.:(:(:(:(:(

Have DVLA given a reason for refusal?
When you aren't allowed to drive for a while, and then are told you can, you look forward to that date - but then to have it snatched away must be horrible!
