I've still not managed to see Spectre. I'm not hugely familiar with all the old Bond films but I out of the recent ones Daniel Craig is definitely my favorite. I think the films have generally been better than in the Brosnan era too.
I like Mr Craig, but I think my fave baddie appeared in the Brosnan era.
Yep : Jonathan Pryce as an evil media baron, who was *definitely definitely* not modelled on a fusion of Rupert Murdoch / Bill Gates / Steve Jobs
Factoid alert :
Did you know that the Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" was supposed to be called "Tomorrow Never Lies" but there was a typo error on the way to the printers or some such...0 -

ETA: I didn't, OH did....in my car!
does not quite beat the time I backed OHs car into DDs car:o
My adaptations are being fitted to mynew wheels tomorrow.
A steering lollipop with wipers and indicators operated by blue tooth using the rh thumb to press buttons on the lollipop.
I haven't even sat in the car since we got it home on saturday as i am trying to think that this car only steers with a lollipop and it is normal for this vehicle. I just think it will make me feel better about it as I am pretty unhappy about it being abnormal. Had another driving lesson on sunday, advised I am OK to drive, my spatial awareness is a bit off ( quite hard to adjust as adjusting requires spatial awareness:() I will have another lesson in about 4 weeks to see how its going. The car sales guy told me it takes about 6weeks to get used to driving a new car, so I have no expectations of whizzing around. I am planning my first trip out.
Tomorrow afternoon, to the bottle bank. About a mile and a half round trip. If you are in the Hampshire countryside tomorrow after lunch , beware long tailbacks on rural roads.0 -
It took me about 4 weeks to feel more confident going along our sea road which although quite wide, is stuffed full of cars most of the time which allows two cars to pass if they are being careful.
Had it a couple of months now and I am zipping along, more confident parking it without having palpitations about hitting something and can judge the width much more easily. I do need to get in touch with Motability though as I can't use the boot (it rises up too high and I can't reach to close it because of my shoulders) and because they still haven't sorted the ball for the steering wheel (which should have been fitted prior to collection but it 'slipped through the cracks')
On the moving in question, when me and now ex hubby moved in together, my parents gave us a card and a bottle of wine. When my sister moved in with her other half, they bought her a television, fridge, cooker, tv licence and sofa plus all bedding and kitchen items. Not sure what they gave my brother but it was probably more in line with what I received....little sister was the spoilt one :rotfl:
Going to see the new Bond film tomorrow, can't say I am looking forward to it but it is a mum's dutyWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I need to take pretty swift action on something, but need to speak to OH (who isn't here) before I do it.........
Could be interesting.💙💛 💔0 -

Great news about progress towards having wheels you can use. Sorry to hear your feelings are having a hard time - just one of a whole series of things you've had to work through difficult feelings about, I imagine. It's natural not to like being "different" when "different" is a euphemism for "can't do it the way everybody else does it".But I'm sure you will get used to it in time and start taking it for granted. Hoping that happens quickly and smoothly for you. Sending hugs.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Conquered the route to the bottle bank. Chuffed by my triump I then went into local village, 3miles, across an A road at a fiddly junction.
My effort was rewarded by being able to go the butchers , dry cleaners and having my hair washed and blowdried.
i also bought a lemon drizzle cake. got back before the school run traffic started/0 -

mmmm cake. Not "keen" on cake to the point of buying/making one, but I do like the occasional slice. I probably eat 1-2 slices/year maximum, which is why it's not worth buying/making one.
Do you often have your hair washed/blowdried, or is it a "new treat" now you're less able to do fiddly arm gymnastics tasks?
I usually make cake but I wanted instant cake today.
I have never hadmy hair just washed and dried before, and when working dried my hair on the way to work. I am bored by/ not much good at styling.
My stroke would not have helped, but it is where my hair has grown back that I need help. now have a thick soft , fluffy head of hair. Needs industrial strength tools and expert skills to bring any kind of style to it.0 -
So pleased to hear of your successes today, Spirit. Wonderful news! :jEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
