James went back to uni today, youngest is moaning about his homework (he got a little behind during half term as he came down with the same as me) and Josh is wanting to stop his cello lessons as it makes Monday too busy....

I've got a monster headache, want to just sleep but have a bedroom to clear tomorrow in prep for a new bed arriving (youngest's room, tiny little thing and room clearance needed to just get the blooming thing in there and fitted in the only space the bed can go, so everything has to come out!). I feel absolutely exhausted and dizzy because I am...if only I could sleep for a week.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm sure he is not too upset, compared to pig's head gate, this is small beer.

Was watergate the first story to have the suffix gate?

I think watergate was the 'watergate complex' and gave 'Gate' to all subsequent scandals

    Its so quiet here nowadays...

Anyway, I know tea in London has come up a few times and wanted to suggest somewhere I would not personally have thought of. On the ground floor of the Shard is a patisserie called Lang. We did not have cream tea there but considering up the location I was amazed at how peaceful Lang was, it was almost surreal how it was so well sound insulated. The apricot white tea was delectable and we had different patisserie each. The Halloween special ones were gorgeous to look at, creepy little jack o lanterns. That its at a point. Good for travel and stuff is also a bonus.

Still annoyed we could not get places for the Sanderson Alice teas though!

Good that you had a nice 'tea' and are well to come and socialise in London at the monent, probably cost more than 50p in a polystyrene cup tho...

Have we heard from Spirit recently?
    I think....

    I have some news.

We finally got our planning permission to build our new home, at planning committee last night. The planning officers were still recommending rejection. Common sense prevailed and the councillors changed the motion to be for approval and they voted 10-0. :)

    Not surprised!

There's more celebratory liquid in that photo than I've had in my entire life!

I clicked as I thought it might be a link to your plans ..... now I'll have to dig out my stalker notebook to hunt them down :)

    Rehi all.

Back in the land of Blighty from our New York trip.

A couple of impressions whilst they are still fresh...I'd be interested in other NP views, as thou are a learned lot :)

    1) I can now understand why some might claim that NY (or specifically Manhattan) is one of the great cities in the world. The sheer mix of skyscraper skyline with city street activity is great; the history of the place is rich and varied; and the buzz the people get out of the Halloween parade or the Marathon is clear to see.

    2) Is there a better executed memorial / museum than Ground Zero, both the water installations and the visitor centre itself. It is well worth the entry fee, though I can see how the cost might put some people off. The whole exhibit is well done, and yet so highly personal to those who lost their lives. The fire fighter stories were just one compelling aspect.

So...controversy time... Is NY a greater city than London? For me the answer is yes, but I suspect this reflects my ignorance about London more than anything. I confess I don't really get it yet.
