I was on TV in the gallery in the 80s :)

It seems very nice. Plenty of room to park and lots of open space. It's not really in either SW or SE London and trying to get there by train isn't very straightforward. Going by car you pass through denser and denser inner city areas then suddenly everything opens up. Bit of an oasis. Made the mistake of looking at the prices in the estate agents there. Won't be moving there any time soon.

He actually becomes more interesting once you look beyond the mass produced Uni dorm prints and posters of the 'master draughtsman'.

Very talented artist, some may argue the talent was wasted on mass market commercialism, but I'd disagree.

Anything that brings art to the masses and makes people think is usually worthwhile.

I've only been on TV twice (nope three times) and that was accidentaly for a few seconds.
When I was in the TV audience for Jools Holland last year (they shoot two shows at once) and once I was standing in a queue at a railway station while the local news was filming a band of South American buskers back in 1990. :D

I'd never accuse him of over-commercialism! He was a bit culturally restricted and refused work with Kubrick on 2001 and Mick Jagger on an album cover because he'd never heard of either of them. He was very mathematically minded (in a sense) and wasn't much of a hippy.:)

I was on TV in the UK a couple of times as a kid, once in a cutaway on the local news program and another time limbo dancing at the Commonwealth Institute(!).

I've also been on French news in a cutaway and on the news in Aus too.

Never on Crimewatch or at least not yet.

Doozer used to be an actor so he's been on TV a lot. He was asked to go on Crimewatch. :D We were on holiday when they were recording. but I did laugh when it was broadcast as I could tell which part would have been his.

Wasn't there some actor on crimewatch who regularly gets fingered by the public for the actual crime and has even been arrested before the police figured it out?

Had looked forward to a gig for weeks but when it came to it, my health was just not up to it, the solution? James Facetimed most of it to me in my bed!

Would much rather have gone to the gig but at least I got to say hi to the guys and be part of the night, albeit from a few miles away and electronically. I actually got a better view than if I had been there as I had close ups on each band member doing their thing, at one point, James had his phone right by the strings on Oscar's (lead guitarist) guitar, courtesy of Oscar, during one of his amazing solos.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

So I go from viewing and contemplating one of the most extraordinary works of art ever created last week to arguing with a complete idiot this week.

Life is too short for this crap.

Good to see the Nice People weighing in on your side.

I'm a no nuffink on aviation so will stand aside from the conversation. I am always on your side though (apart from when I'm not of course).

I think Hamish has a well reasoned argument, in the same way as his CRJ/ERJ/SSJ argument is very well aligned and reflects it well.

As I've said before, when it comes to aviation, Hamish knows more than I do on certain things, and I'll leave his opinion to that :)

If I disagree, I'll speak up, and generally learn something.

I'm not sure that chat about who fingers whom is suitable for the Nice People thread quite frankly Mr S.
