I should have about half of them. I feel cheated, having done most of my useful stuff years ago. I even had a little chat with Martin via DM about cheap champagne once. Long time ago when he used to post on the forums. Remember that?
edit: Oh yeah, I bet many of you do, the board having been threatened with obsoletion during the height of Sockpuppetgate.
Me too. They used a money moral dilemma of mine once and never gave me a badge.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. On the subject of bags, I am +4 today, butcher gave me 2, the baker 1 and cake shop another. Maybe frequenting individual smaller shops will be a good option.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Honest dear readers and lurkers, I'm only the OP and I haven't a clue what all this talk of badges is about.
The NPs could make this old man very happy by clearing up the mystery. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

That was my 10p main meal of the evening!
I've discovered that too, and the ones I bought weren't even reduced! I don't think crumpets are as nice as they used to be.
When we were in Germany we could buy them at the NAAFI, but they had always been always frozen, due to their short shelf life. Same with sausages.
ETA Already frozen, I meant to say.
I remember my mother once had a go at making crumpets, but i didn't like them.0 -
Highers are taken age 17 but are the equivalent(ish) of A-Levels.
I'm sure HAMISH or zag will be along with details later.
Yep that's the deal. A lot like AS levels but
- meant to lead straight to uni at 17
- Had to take 4-6 at a time and sit exams just after a "two-term dash"
- had to mix numerate and literate subjects
- narrower than the IB but less rigid, while broader than AS/A levels.
- prepares you to study in a faculty rather than a particular Uni Department.
I really liked the breadth, but the content was less than an A level. Difficulty level was a bit lower. But A levels have changed considerably since I first taught them in the 80s.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I got my original badge because lir had a word on my behalf.
I don't understand badges. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

These vans are only good for people who'd have spent the site fees on a holiday - and prefer to get a summer season's use out of a van instead. When your holiday budget would be <£200/year it's a non-starter.
Also, there are the selling fees and transfer fees. Typically 10% of the sales value goes to the site owner. Some local beach huts (without services) here charge a £15k transfer fee simply for a change of owner!
With the cost of buying one/depreciation, annual fees, insurance, rates, selling fees, you can often be looking at £6k/year over the lifetime of ownership.
The cheapest holiday caravan within a Rightmove 10 miles of me is £14k, but they don't tell you how many years that has left (probably just 3-4 before it has to be removed). The site fees there are £2-3k/year too.
£16k gets you the next one, a 9 year old van.
Cheapest beach hut is a shabby shed on a bit of scrubland. It's really basic and battered and has nothing inside it at all. £20k. Annual rent for the spot is £378.33 + VAT (£454)
Mum and dad's is up for around 3k and luckily the site has no minimum age for the van...theirs is from 1994.
At one point, they were saving money by having the van, they would be up there for a lot of the summer holidays, loads of weekends etc and the site fees were fairly low compared to others but over the last few years, the fees and other associated costs have crept up and of course, dad has not been well, so they have used it less.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
