And over here the weather is either far too hot to go anywhere that doesn't have aircon or chucking it down so hard that any tent is going to be flattened in seconds.

    Camping is ridiculous.

On the basis "money's no object" I suppose there's no chance of getting away with hiring a campervan to park beside the tent ... somewhere you can sit and be smug from.

We'd also need to hire a hovercraft to get the thing over the river that we need to cross by boat.

This is an annual thing. I got out of it last year by virtue of having cancer.

I grew up having camping holidays and loved it, it was also great fun as a late teenager and early twenties thing....then I got pregnant.

That holiday has to be one of the worst ever, trailing out at 3am to the loo block because I was 30 weeks pregnant and James was sitting on my bladder was not my idea of fun. We switched to static caravans after that although we did try a bank holiday weekend under canvas back in 2002, youngest and Josh spent the whole time completely freaked out because of creepy crawlies, mud and rain that we have never repeated it.

James was in his element though....

Mum and dad are giving up their caravan at the end of this season, dad has been too ill this year for them (and it wasn't much better last year) to really use it and they want to replace their conservatory which the money they pay for their site fees will come in handy. For how much they have paid this year and not used it, they could have had several very good holidays, much more than they have had.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I always thought Josh was far more sensible than James.

I ordered Viva's recommended bin for £34.99. It's a great shape actually and I have the perfect spot. It will fit better than the current bin but I will use that for recycling.

I also found suitable high-up cupboard space and purchased a dog food storage bin. This means he can no longer drag 12kg bags of dog food out into the garden to rip up and eat.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I was wondering whether you were going to get an incredibly complicated voice activated bin, or even build one of your own. That would have really tested your dog's aptitude.

How does a dog food storage bin differ from other storage bins?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I looked at the crocodile question, and it doesn't seem any harder than the other ones. Chain rule for differentiation seems to be involved, but wouldn't the kids have been taught that?

Are highers equivalent of gcse or A level? As I thought the croc question was pretty straight-forward and I haven't done maths for 27 years. Couldn't remember how to differentiate but a simple bit of pythagoras and sohcahtoa did the trick.
    I think....

Highers are taken age 17 but are the equivalent(ish) of A-Levels.

I'm sure HAMISH or zag will be along with details later.

I am PN and I claim my 5 pounds - not only do we paint everything white but we also hang plastic bags on cupboard doors as our kitchen bin because they are quickly filled and thrown ouside and there is no lid/inside for yucky rubbish to get on or big bag to linger.

Oh yes and our annual holiday budget is about 400 quid all in.
    I think....
