I've not been in the ocean in ages. I might have to take a week off and do an Airbnb somewhere.

I thought the whole point/reason people moved to Aus was so that they could go to the beach every evening, after work, with their family - and have a picnic/BBQ and go surfing.

    You've been doing it wrong!

No, if you only understood the weird zoology of Aus, you'd realise they're retreating to the shelter of the beach.

If you position yourself right by shuffling your family around you can find a safe spot where the spiders and other venomous land animals can't get you, but the sharks and venomous jellyfish can't quite reach you either.

I think that's the plot line for most of episodes of Home and Away isn't it? :)

Maybe it's irrational but it isn't sharks which worry me.

It's the Portuguese Man of War. It's like a stealth attack lying in wait.

They can try. No doubt you have some responsibility for an accident, but this was a defect on the car. If they charge your credit card, dispute it.

Unless you bashed the door handle against something, of course. Just shutting the door would not Have caused anything to fall off if it had been in good working order.

Thanks, yes it's very definitely a defect of the car. With the car's age it will still be covered by the manufacturer, so they should be taking it up with them; not me!

I'll just have to see what they come back with. They might not charge me after all, but when they've got your card details you do feel they've got you by the short and curlies.

Good luck to all the NP offspring and related who collect their GCSEs today.

    DD is amongst them.

I wish I could say she was one of those gifted ones who will huddle excitedly sharing stories of A*, but alas she isn't. She is one of life's triers.

DS has already missed out on his French with a 'D'.

As long as they get whatever results they need to progress to the next stage and are satisfied that they have done the best they can, it is all good.

And she is female, so can jump in the air clutching a piece of paper and be photographed for national newspapers, whatever the results.

Jellyfish fascinate me. I'd love to keep them, but apparently it's quite tricky and I already make a good job trying to kill tropical fish with my lack of skill !

So the shortened version of the next stage in the investment project appears to be .....and then the ceilings collapsed :(

I really don't get this gender war they create in the media, comparing results of boys versus girls.

I doubt it's as simple as that.

The photo comment ticked me...it's true!

So is youngest....his repeat of year 11 gained an additional Maths GCSE and a Distinction*, Distinction in Business studies.

He now has enough GCSEs (he actually had enough when he got the Maths in November) to continue into level 3, where he will be studying ICT.

Proud mum here and it goes to show what changing school does.....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
