    Ah yes, jellyfish.

Thankfully we don't get Irukandjis in Sydney just yet but a little more climate change and a long El Nino period and we just might.

For the uninitiated, an irukandji is related to the box jellyfish and named for the Irukandji people who are the traditional keepers of the land (Aboriginals to you) arounds Cairns in Northern Queensland.

They are between a quarter inch and an inch in size and if they sting you then it's a bit itchy...for 1-2 hours. Then you cramp and experience immense pain. If you don't get some pretty funky treatment within a couple of hours after symptoms present themselves then you might not see the next morning. Thankfully the symptoms, when they do arrive, are so utterly appalling that you would be a complete f... wit not to call an ambulance. Unless you are in Northern QLD and can't summon help because it's so remote. Ahhhhhh....I see.

So is youngest....his repeat of year 11 gained an additional Maths GCSE and a Distinction*, Distinction in Business studies.

He now has enough GCSEs (he actually had enough when he got the Maths in November) to continue into level 3, where he will be studying ICT.

Proud mum here and it goes to show what changing school does.....

Sue, years later when employers ask on exam results, the figure they remember is how many passes did you get. The method and journey isn't an issue.

The clever interviewee will spin a supposed negative into a positive.

"I knew I was struggling at school A but was determined to do something about it, even if it meant losing contact with friends and changing school"

I've worked with a couple of IT contractors who would struggle to muster up a handful of passes between them. Some of the most talented people I have worked with, in fact.

Oh, sorry, ignore that....the modern mantra is a degree proves everything right? (as if)

So the shortened version of the next stage in the investment project appears to be .....and then the ceilings collapsed :(

Try a house rebuild where you think the original 'shack' was on solid foundations....

..only to find it was sand!

    It's amusing now.

Just want to say to the NP's thank you for the friendly and often interesting chats over the years.

Unfortunately the Nasty People on here have won, and I have decided that I have better things to do than post or read the forum anymore.

    Good luck to you all.

Sorry you feel you have to go, Purch. Good luck to you too.

Fingers crossed in a few weeks/months you will feel able to come back to us.

Horrid to be attacked, I don't know details obviously. All good wishes!

Haven't been online much today but really sorry to hear that purch. I don't like it when good, descent people stop posting. Besides, it was my plan to be your troll when the Bucs start playing proper games again. Still, if per PN's note above, Brad Johnson starts posting, then I'll know why.

Agreed. I've reported the offender, suggest others do likewise.

I waved to Spirit from the top of the spinnaker and both ways on the A3.

Walked about a lot in the rain again but not as wet as yesterday.
    I think....

I've been following those threads, Purch; your posts are worth reading.

The others, by and large, aren't. There are a few spectacularly poor posters with serious delusions of adequacy who, to steal another posters eloquent phrase, are inebriated with the exuberance of their verbosity.:o
