In other news as part of [STRIKE]procrastination[/STRIKE] my efforts to move more in the direction I want to go in I've applied for a job today which will be perfect for me :)

It's very similar to what I'm doing now, but in a field I want to move in to. That, and the commute from here will be much easier. Fingers crossed. If I don't get this I've still got my current job!

Good luck Mas. When will you know whether you've been shortlisted?

Dunno if I've posted this before. It's Daffy Duck singing Yesterday by Lennon and McCartney.

There is a not very nice joke about Whitney Houston that I am not going to write on here. You can find it on Pop[ladydog] or on Twitter here.

This is not a nice joke, although I found it funny but I have a sick sense of humour. Do not click on the link and then moan that it's a sick joke.

For those of us not familiar with the lady, could you please explain the joke? Something to do with her going into rehabilitation, maybe?

Edit: ah, she died, apparently. And this was the anniversary of her death. Very droll. Except it's illogical. How could the author know that the crack pipe had not been destroyed in the meantime, or used by someone else?

Was Huston well known as a crack addict, perhaps?

Maybe the joke is funnier if you explain it more?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

She used to smoke a lot of crack. A lot.

So, whom did she bequeath her crack pipe to, and how do you know that he or she has not used it in the last year?

Was the author of the joke one of her executors, perhaps, so he would be privy to this information?

Josh is still walking around with a silly grin on his face but now he is minus the headlight/deranged stare.

The good this has done to his confidence is amazing, especially as he was so convinced he had missed the target (what they had wanted was a little higher than he thought he could achieve but he was so impressed with the place, he took a chance on getting the grades....at the time of the offer, it looked impossible to reach the grade in one of the subjects)

Lots to do now though, he was so convinced he wouldn't make it (for either his firm or insurance offer) that he wouldn't do any of the planning or prep for going, so now running around like a headless chicken trying to get it all organised!

I'm still strutting around with a similar silly grin and feeling overpowered with pride.

Edit - We had done all the student finance stuff thankfully!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Congratulations Josh!

How are you and youngest feeling about being together in the house? Will youngest miss his big brother, or could he gain in some way, e.g. bigger bedroom?

Mixed feelings all round I suspect. Hope you are ok Sue. Lots of change, v exciting though! Are oldest and middle going to anywhere near each other when they are both away?

    Sorry for the twenty questions.

Probably won't make the blind bit of difference to youngest, he rarely sits with us in the front room, preferring his own company in his bedroom. He will however, have to push me around at the weekend as Josh was the main wheelchair pusher.

The bedrooms will stay the same for when James and Josh come home, youngest is comfortable in his room, has his set up perfect and he has no interest in being in the other room (thank goodness, it would be a job and a half packing his room up despite it being the smallest in the house, it's more like a computer lab than a bedroom!)

I think we are all going to miss Josh, far more than James as he was always around. James had always been very independent and out and about and in the last year or so before he went to uni, he spent very little time actually in the house apart from to sleep. With Josh, it is the complete opposite, he only goes out socially once in a blue moon and as said before, over the last couple of years, has been my main 'carer', my parent's lugger of shopping (or anything else heavy for that matter) and someone for me to talk to of an evening.

But, he is an adult and he has to be able to live his own life, so whilst it may take some adjustment, it will be for the greater good.

James is in High Wycombe, Josh will be in Northampton.....rail travel between the two is possible if they get their bums in gear. I think James is already planning a visit to compare the nightlife, not exactly sure Josh is looking forward to that! It will be some time before Josh attempts a visit to James as he will need help to do that but hopefully in time, he will become more confident to be able to do so.

Hi sue, bus travel between the two should be possible too, coach 737 from high Wycombe to Luton then 707 Luton to Northampton. I don't think it will be particularly quick, but thought I'd mention as may be cheaper with student travel card.

Exciting times for the single family!

Must admit, hadn't thought of a bus!
