Ah, a bit of a misunderstanding there. I kept an eye on your original post, which is still up in its entirety, so I thought it was probably okay to quote it. Anyway, I've now amended my post. Sorry.

Quicker than that! And apologies once again.

    No problemo.

I put it up on the interwebs in the first place so the original responsibility lies with me.

I knew that as soon as I called you for this you'd take it down. It's not so much that I regret posting it, I don't, I just don't want it to be part of a history even if it is one hard to find.

Cheers GDB, I appreciate it.:) And as we say in Aus, "No harm, no foul".

I'm going to have to find a similar story to post that you can't quote but that you can have a laugh about. I have quite a few. As George Bush said, "When I was young and irresponsible I was young and irresponsible".

    Thanks for the pointers :)

I'm thinking I'm going to stick with the traditional speech; I love the idea of doing poems, telegrams etc, and I have other friends that would love that kind of thing but I think the expectation here is for a traditional speech!

Will keep it short and sweet I think.

My issue really is that I don't have much in the way of funny stories. My friends from uni I have dozens... and they have dozens about me... and I dread the day I have to sit and listen to one of them recount them.

The guy I'm best man for on Monday though our friendship mainly consisted of eating takeaways, drinking cheap beer, and watching films. So I've tried to do some gags around that but it doesn't exactly write itself!

The nice bits are fine I think :)

In other news as part of [STRIKE]procrastination[/STRIKE] my efforts to move more in the direction I want to go in I've applied for a job today which will be perfect for me :)

It's very similar to what I'm doing now, but in a field I want to move in to. That, and the commute from here will be much easier. Fingers crossed. If I don't get this I've still got my current job!

My favourite from that album is 'It's not right, but it's okay' but much of my teenaged angst was voiced by her power ballads.

Still gives me goose bumps https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FxYw0XPEoKE. Definity pips a lot of others to the post for me, but only just. And the choice is huge.

A great shame. And her poor daughter :(

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

There is a not very nice joke about Whitney Houston that I am not going to write on here. You can find it on Pop[ladydog] or on Twitter here.

This is not a nice joke, although I found it funny but I have a sick sense of humour. Do not click on the link and then moan that it's a sick joke.

Talking of Whitney, has anyone been watching the Frank Sinatra 4 parter on BBC4. Last night was part 2......fascinating.
I thought I knew a little about him but there is so much more.
