I'm below 80kg!!!
That's 12 stone 8.576lb which goes to show what an arbitrary number it is but yay anyway.0 -

Probably 9st4 right now. Heaviest ever was in 2004 when I was 11stone2, dieted down to 8stone3, then drifted up to about 9stone7 and have stayed there for 10 years.
Yes, even with all the sweeties.
My max is 84kg I think (~13 stone) when I was having the cancer treatment. Drank too much, ate a load of crap, felt sorry for myself.
I'm quite short at 167cm/5'6" but I have very big legs because of all the cycling. I'd like to get down to 11 stone/70kg which is a BMI of pretty much exactly 25. I think that's my fighting weight. Then lose a little more for a couple of big bike rides I have in mind as it's too hard to shift a big tummy up a big mountain.0 -
Living and laughing with aphasia.
fir: which body moisturiser would you like today?
Lir: um, rose and coronation chicken I think.0 -

I know I'm chubby ..... not in denial there
You are below 25. I don't think there is much cause for concern.
I've been running 20 to 30 miles a week all summer and I don't think my weight has moved much at all. Like Gen says it all seems to shift to the legs! My calves are definitey chunkier.
Re the overweight observation, go to any half/full board hotel in Spain/Italy etc. I've just come back from one.
It is worrying just how large many people are, and all the more noticeable when they are stripped down to the essentials.
This is not me condemning or crowing. We have a serious problem with obesity in the UK, and I don't see it getting better.
We need to sponsor more free swimming / better walking paths / safe cycle areas. Anything to promote moderate increases in activity.
(Oh, and ban unlit chain fences - my shoulder muscles still haven't recovered)

The obesity thing in Aus is amazing for a country that claims to have no class system.
I work in the very centre of Sydney, in fact you could describe where I work as the centre of Sydney quite reasonably, albeit you'd start a row.
On the floor I work on and the floor below we have most of the elite of the company. I reckon there are 2 people that are obese and perhaps another 5 or so that are overweight out of the best part of 250 people.
When I first came to Aus I didn't have a job so I got a temporary gig handing out cookbooks to people that had spent a hundred bucks at the shopping centre at Plumpton (seriously). I would say half were obese and a goodly amount more were carrying weight. Tweens and younger teens were the majority of non-chubby people. Half of adults (20+) smoked I guesstimate.
In Aus now you can buy takeaway for less than you can buy a piece of chicken and some veggies and takeaway in Aus tastes gooood.
So what to do? Taxing sugar has worked for Mexico but that might be because poor people don't have access to clean water so making soda more expensive than bottled water drives people with few choices in life to drinking water rather than lemonade.
I gained weight because I ate crap and stopped exercising. I had a cracking excuse for it but my pancreas won't want to hear those excuses in a decade or so.
I'm not trying to hector anyone, just saying.0 -
Ooh, those do sound nice, Pastures!
Lydiaj - What a darling dog! What sort of size is she? Middle-sized?
Maggie ((HUGS)) What a horrible week! May this coming one be much better.
Well done Generali and kabayiri, on the cycling/running!
A racing pigeon fell off our roof yesterday, trying to get away from some feral pigeons that were already there (stomping in the gutter!). We put it into a pet carrier with food and water, as instructed by the Racing Pigeon Fanciers Association website, and emailed them to report it. They sent an automated email back with its owner's details. It had seemed fine, but sadly it died overnight. Delayed shock from crashing to the ground, we think (it must have been too exhausted to fly any further).
OH rang the owner this morning to break the news, and the bird had been well off-course.
It seems odd to be sad about a pigeon, when we've been so fed up with the noisy feral ones.0 -

I bet she'll be quiet on the flight home :eek:0 -
I hate to say this Trev, but that was the first thing I thought.
I'll clearly have to watch what I say in the future though, given that you found that... A sad day for her friends and family though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Ahem.... I know that the NPs won't fall foul of this, but a feature of Windows 10 has been discovered that has potential for great embarrassment:
