I've been behind a bar, in the paddock/ stables and in a stewards vehicle:). All give the day a bit more 'structure'. Bar work is tedious because you see only racing on the tvs, but you make a tidy amount in tips. as the day goes on and people become less inhibited they give more money but they also forgot that collecting dead classes is not giving a lap dance for tips, and that even that has touching rules.0 -
They sometimes use unimaginative titles (and ideas) for programmes. I'm surprised they don't just call them the Now show The next one. The one after that. Later, the Late Show, the lLate, Late Show and finally play this instead of the national anthem.
Actually I didn't even have to make up some of those names; they're just not putting the effort in these days.:(There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I am awake, properly today. Feels good.
I have decided to organise sparkly corner, which really needed properly doing since we moved, FIVE years ago!!!!!. its been half heatedly shuffled, but not properly done.
I'm having a few heart wrenching moments. Some things I am parting with with little difficulty. Others I am not sure about, I will almost certainly never wear them. While I still like looking at them they can stay, some I am not sure I still like looking at, or whether I like that I used to like looking at and I have fond ness for those memories. Confusing.
Also, I'm going to need fir to put in some screws for me to put wires on for earings, I am getting rid of the whole top section of sparkly corner, and going to start keeping the earring inside the cupboard. And maybe look for some sort of ring tree.
We have a mirror I might try and pop on the wall behind instead, but its a slopping chimney from room below, so not sure how that will work. I don't care to see my self, but I do fancy some more light play in here.0 -

I really like tennis, which I didn't previously mention, I used to go to Wimbledon every year but when I paid £500 for a pair of tickets (about 10 years ago), I switched to Eastbourne.
Oh yeah, the gee gees. I've been to, from memory Sandown, the other one pretty much next door, Ascot, Windsor, one in the West Country I can't remember which was a bit crap and the point-to-point.
I've also watched/followed in a ute fox hunting.
Kempton Park was the next door one.
Oh and motor sport. Stock car racing I've seen. That was laugh. And lawnmower 24 hour from somewhere in Sussex. That was brilliant. My mate's dad had a team entered.
I must have seen proper motorsport but I can't think when.0 -
Ah yeah. Watersports too. Water skiing I think when I was tiny at Ruislip lido. And a yachting thing from the beach in the 1980s in the Med.0

May I recommend that you don't attend your first (or any) game at the Thunderdome (Tropiquaria Field). Best to try a spring training game at Port St Lucie or Fort Myers, or maybe catch the Yankees Double A team at Legend Field on Dale Mabry for starters.
Best Major League ballparks to see a game are IMO, Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field, Petco Park or maybe the Great American Smallpark in Cincinnati'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

That used to be the bare minimum for Monday evening races at Windsor.......out of work, sprint to Waterloo and train it to Windsor (the getting home part was always hazy )'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
