Are there still lots of countries where you'd need a separate (extra) passport nowadays? I remember a few decades ago if you visited a few countries you'd have a second one but I thought that was a thing of the past.
Not nearly as many these days as when I was working overseas. It's still advisable in a handful if you've visited whatever country they don't like today. So not quite a thing of the past but it's far less prevalent than it was.Assume dual nationality rather than two UK passports?
No it's two UK passports. I was issued a second one a long time ago for work, back when these things were more of an issue, and have kept it up ever since.
As it turns out it's also incredibly useful for getting visas that take ages to come through because you're trying to do something 'unusual', like driving across countries that don't allow it without official guides, or entering countries via obscure land borders instead of the main airport or whatever.
Otherwise you'd be stuck without a passport while the embassy holds on to yours for months waiting for a decision.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Hamish, this is completely off subject, do you support/follow Aberdeen football club? What a great surprise (at least to me, judging by the fact that they were 6/1 just to win) 3:0 away win they had in Europe last week.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Can't say I'm a fan of football at all. Never even been to a game.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I'm fuming. Had the fence between us and the neighbour two weeks ago. Chatted civilly over the fence after the work was done and agreed we would both send half the cost to the fence guy that day. I've just had a text from the fence guy to say he hasn't had payment from the neighbours.
I sent a text to the wife, who texted back she will check with husband.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'm not a huge fan myself, but I do allow myself to be annually tortured by both Sunderland and Newcastle's relegation skirmishes. I much prefer cricket, although I only tend to follow England (so no torture free zone there either).Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
From memory I've been to see professional, semi-professional or good amateur level:
- Football (soccer - International and club)
- Football (American)
- Football (Rugby Union - International and club)
- Cricket (Test, ODI, T20, 1st class 4 day, 1st class ltd overs, 1st class T20)
- Netball (International and club)
- Cycling (road)
- Tennis
- Golf (kinda)
- Fencing
- Cross country running
I think that's it. I probably forgot one or two. Swimming and some more athletics perhaps...?0
