There is a bridge linking our village to its town next door. Our village is reputedly smarter (=house price premium if little else). Petrol station on our side of the bridge has just been converted to an Asda click & collect and mini store. The town meanwhile has granted permission for the pub on its side of the bridge to be converted to a Sainsbury's small store. Much complaints about bridge traffic increasing as everyone tries to get to what they see as their store.

I definitely have a bad feeling about it all.

Woukd also give me a bad feeling. Hope they go away. I'd be tempted together hosepipe out and water the roses and accidentally splash near them. Or start taking photos of your roses and accidentally include them in the picture. Only if I was feeling brave or had company.

You definitely don't want to start a fight with them.

My mate used to rent a beautiful 2 bed flat down by the river in Wapping. He was paying a pittance for it.

The reason? The owners had decided to 'move on' some teenagers who were loitering outside the flat and said teens made their lives hell as a result.

My mate moved in and saw them outside when he and his OH were in the small outside space enjoying the evening sun. He said hi and gave them a beer and probably something off the barbie knowing him. They left him to enjoy the flat in peace. Never had a moment's bother with them.

Are they actually doing anything wrong (petty vandalism, drinking underage, smoking, littering, making excessive noise) or are they just hanging out?

Just wishing them away won't solve anything unfortunately and I would definitely counsel against starting an argument with them.

I've found if doing nothing illegal, just leaving them to it woks best, as they will find somewhere else eventually.

We live on the same road as a school, with flats (with open space) opposite, which never helps matters.

Purchase of the Romanian company went through on Friday, so on top of normal work/holiday, I'm going to be extremely busy the next few weeks. I have their management team until the end of October, so hopefully we'll be able to find a suitable director before then.

The company was part of Sony until 2008, then subject to an MBO, and there are several ex-Sony staff still there, so this should be easy enough. Still looking at about January/February to get everything fully integrated into the main company, though :(

Me too. And when one gets those kind of phone calls they sound stupefied.

I have. Kisstory on quite a bit each day while I do my physio stretches and / or um....yoga. Sometimes I do my yoga in more meditative background noise only, or switch to radio three. ( music tends to class a little with mmmms and aaahs and oms at the end of session) but sometimes I find when alone because my mind is not where it should be its an easy cop out to use music to keep other noise / disturbance at bay and keeps me from being too goal orientated.
