    Hi and welcome Phoebe
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I've had that before. Slight increase in pressure inthe eye=migraine. Blood vessel bursts, relieving pressure and migraine goes away. Hopefully the redness goes away soon.

Thanks, that's reassuring, :D. I also get ocular migraines and the ocular rosacea, so I', used to the red eyes :D. The one was just particularly brilliant yesterday. I'm meant to be monitoring this because the recent good news about no swelling on ocular nerve is important. If its maintained I'll be able to fly again. :)

Jewish NP, I need your help. I have been told to go on an exclusion diet as I seem to have picked up another intolerance or allergy. GP has suggested that I give up dairy and wheat separately for three weeks each. I am about to stop wheat, but wondered if I could get some ideas re alternatives to dairy.

I've used Tomor before and tolerated it well, anything else you would suggest? I use quite a lot of dairy... milk, cheese, yoghurt, butter, fromage frais... looking to find alternatives for as many as possible. Many thanks!

There are lots of milk alternatives, Rice, soya, almond etc. personally, apart from almond in some tea and coffee....I found it easier to give up.

Butter can usually be swapped with mayo, nut butter or even just forgone.

Fromage etc, I'd just forgo for the three weeks. If it iis a lactose allergy rather than milk it doesn't always mean you will not eat these things again.

Michaels, so sorry to hear of your experience at urgent care. Not surprised unfortunately, as local service is a joke and one of the worst in the country.

I hope DD is feeling better this morning.

I'm with you. Didn't replace as it confuses. Straight substitutes may taste different (GF bread = yuck) and therefore make one want the 'real deal'. I find just eating differently is easier.

I gave up caffeine at the same time so don't need milk for tea, but I'll use almond milk in a smoothie occasionally. My gut is hugely better for giving up both, most of the time. I have full fat, natural yoghurt still. I think the benefits outweigh negatives - not if you have a full blown allergy, obv.

Ditto almond butter. Who knew there was such a range of nut butters. And they taste great even without being full of sugar liek commercial peanut butter. Yet to try cashew but I think it might be really good. Without bread, there's not much need for butter, although nut butter will go in baked products like banana bread.

Hamish! That's mad! Hopefully you'll manage to get a few hours sleep and be good to enjoy most of the afternoon. I'm sure she's already notice the Hamish-sized hole in the bed all night though... so good luck with that.

Flew back from Barcelona last night. BA has upgraded its route mapping software... wasn't on the plane on way out. It now shows aerial views of the airports as you take off and terrain on the way across... plus somewhat bizarrely, shipwrecks off the coast.

I know this has been on other airlines for a few years, but first time I've seen. Had to get home and look up the wrecks, fascinating stories. I wonder what the ocean routings look like and whether you see, for example, the Titanic or Lucitania.

Wasn't sure about it on the flight, thought it may not be good for nervous fliers, but v interesting. I was on a newish A320.

Yeah.... Tried to sneak into bed without success... now she's up and grumpy.

Not the first lecture lately about burning candle at both ends.

Made breakfast in the probably vain hope of making amends.... But can't complain as it's all out of concern rather than spite. She doesn't mind 100 hour weeks for a while, but this has been going on for a couple of months now...

Anyway, will get a few hours now and back on the ball this afternoon.
