I'm an EE landline & broadband (but not mobile) customer so, as per Martin's instructions, I texted JOIN and my landline number to 60005 first thing Thursday morning. In the afternoon I received the reply 'Sorry we can't recognise your landline. Can you resend JOIN & your landline number to 60005 or call us 08000798586.' So I called the freephone number and they checked my details and took my (non EE) mobile number, then said it would take about a week to register me, whereupon I would receive a text from them, after which I would be able to text 'POWER' and the mobile number I gave them to get a code. All a bit complicated but hopefully I will get a code in the end. I shall wait and see.......

    "All a bit complicated" :rotfl:

I have EE landline broadband as well.
For the EE Film Club. it's the same drill, except you text to 88141, not 60005:
    JOIN xxxxxxxxxxx

Didn't work, so I rang up. They said the same thing, they would register me manually, and it will take a few working days for the registration to activate, so I checked by texting "film" to 88141, on a SUNDAY, which came back with they don't recognise my number. I called up on Tuesday, but they said I had been registered days ago. So I texted "film" again to 88141, and it worked!

BECAUSE IT ONLY WORKS ON Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!

And yet the error message is not: "CLOSED TODAY, COME BACK Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday", it just says number not recognised!

I don't bother playing adventure games, as dealing with EE is free, because of the 0800 number. Who needs trolls and zombies when you have EE customer service reps. They transfer you to a phone that is never picked up. Items that are ordered never turn up, because "the order failed", REPEATEDLY. I get misleading information, blind alleys, frustration, all reminiscent of Zork.

I have just returned the "free" powerbar to the shop after reading the terms and conditions, it would seem that the powerbar is, and will remain the property of EE, it is not yours to keep, you are only hiring it, if you damage it you will have to pay £20 to EE, if you do not return the powerbar to EE after 18months, EE will charge you £20. Therefore not so free after all.
EE currently have an offer for a powerbar that is twice the capacity for £14.99.
  • Did anyone actually get a hold of one of these chargers,3 members of my family in different parts of the country were told out of stock despite getting to one of the stores at opening time on the day of deal!!!! 35p May not be much but it's not free and if the thousands of customers all spent 35p getting codes it's a great money generator for the company,!!!

    It's £5, not £20. £20 is the price for non-EE customers
  • Got mine on Saturday in Bradford-loads of powerbars in stock.
They had run out on Friday but got a big delivery in for the weekend.
still had them in stock on Sunday too.
