Got my cashback this weekend.
Called them to get it credited to my bank account and to cancel the card right away. The (Indian) call centre rep seemed to have no issue with this. The cashback hasn't yet appeared in my current account but I am hopeful it won't be long... Card goign through the shredder tonight.
Mine was credited this morning, but since I maxed it in the last few days in May, they've simply taken the credit off the outstanding balance which is fine for me.
Yes, it's finally all over RIP my little Cap1 card. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Cashback has shown in my current account now as a fast payment.0

Mine was deducted from my June credit card statement balance and I am winding down my usage of my CapOne card.
I have applied for the Amex cashback card with the 1.25% back on all purchases (and £25 annual fee). It works out best for me.0 -
I had my £17.06 cash back shown as a credit on my Cap one card so I spent it in sainsbobs and spent £17.71 so I only had 65p to pay in cash for my shopping on Monday:) I have since gone into M&S and taken out a credit card with them without any problem and will get the rewards from that instead with no yearly fee
:):) I use a credit card as a debit card and pay oit off in full every month before its due

Congrats JackieO, I had a bigger CB, but still owed 2k after that had been credited, still hoping to pay in full at the end of the month though, I milked it to the very end......After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

shame really.all good things come to an end.:(0 -
Say the cash back rate is 1%.
You must have been spending 200K using your card in a year to earn 2K CB, and your credit card limit must be very high. Impressive ......Impressive ...... Impressive ......
No m8, you misread my post, I owed 2k statement balance after the cashback was credited, the cashback was only £120After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

My cashback was credited a day or so back. I've put no more spending on the card since May 31st and I switched to AMEX for spending from 1st June. Even with the 25 fee, AMEX will work out better for me as the fee is flat rate whereas I only went to 1.25% with C1 over 10k.
Actually quite glad C1 did this, as it pushed me onto AMEX - already maxxed out the 5% cashback too!0 -
and Amex are different class, CS-wise.0

Called Cap1 to cancel my account last weekend. Have had my cashback credited to my current account, but it seems the card account has not been cancelled to date.
I sent them a secure message (I can still log in to the online service) and they said the account was not cancelled just yet.
I'm concerned they're not cancelling it quickly enough as I want to apply for another card. Has anyone had a similar issue?0
