Post Office now accepts Amex? Wow, must have missed that - great news!!
Some started to take it a couple of months ago (Although my local one has taken it for years as they used their regular shop card machine as opposed to the post office card machine if you were paying with Amex) but they all officially started to take it at the start of last month.0 -

It seems I was misinformed....
I had spoken to someone in the Executive Office at Cap1, who said that all cashback was being was removed, or capped at 0.5%.
No one would be earning more than 0.5% - and so I thought I was one of the lucky ones!
I think it would be important for us to know if any person was getting more than this...though of course, it may simply be that you haven't received the letter yet!
My research shows that the Amex Platinum Cashback card, giving 1.25%, is the one we now need to switch to0 -
I still haven't rec'd any letter, so as far as I'm concerned I'm still receiving 0.5% on first 6K, 1% to 10K and 1.25% on all over that.
As I stated many pages ago, I suspect they are looking at the profit/loss from customers and acting accordingly. As I put the occassional largish foreign spend on mine (which is work expense so I dont personally pay the FX fee, I claim it back) I probably come out somewhere near neutral.0 -
thanks msallen. the impression i have is that the advice keiran was given may be right though, and even the few of who haven't received a letter may see a change.0

If anyone is thinking of applying for the Amex Platinum Cashback card, which gives 1.25% on all spending (5% for first 3 months on up to £2500, but with £25 fee), I can refer you so that we both get £25 from Amex. All I'd need is your first and last name and email address.0
