as you are not coming back on the same flights you will have one booking for 4 and another booking for 2. I think Group bookings are for 9+

After reading about easyjets price guarentee on here, and with nothing better to do for 5 mins, I thought I would check the flights I have booked in Feb.
    Lo and Behold! 103.92 cheaper!!!!
So straight onto the phone with the posts of it being 5 mins and refund sorted ringing in my ears.

    Not so for me.
Firstly - having explained I originally paid 258.92, and could buy the flights right now for 166.96, the chap told me no, it was actually more expensive by £75...
Then put me on hold when I disagreed after explaining I had the page in front of me.

He returned telling me it was actually £45 cheaper. He could raise a voucher right now.
I disagreed again repeated the price I had paid and asked how that was only £45 difference. He explained it was taxes, to which I replied that the words FINAL PRICE were quite pertinent, and that if I booked right that moment, I would pay the final price of 166.96.

    He put me on hold.

    He returned.
He could offer me a voucher for £80. I had by now refreshed the page. The price had dropped to £155, but even if it had not, as I explained to him, £80 was still almost £12 shorter than the price guarentee offered. He said it was taxes. I explained that it was A) basic maths. Tax was based on price. If I paid more, I would pay a higher percent of tax. If the price dropped, I would pay less tax, but B) regardless, the difference was in the final price and if I booked at that moment, it would now be a difference of 103.92.

    He put me on hold
He returned, said he could offer me £80
We went round in circles, I asked for his supervisor, as with all due respect, he had offered me 3 different amounts, and I had refreshed the page twice now as it has a 20 minute time out, and I am calling from France so have probably paid more than the difference.

    He put me on hold
    He returned
    He offered £80
    I asked for a supervisor,
    He put me on hold.
He returned telling me that their were 55 people looking at the price at that moment, hence the price could go up or down, and he was offering me £80.
I explained that almost an hour before, it was £155, it was now 166.96. Their price guarentee stated they refund the difference.
It did not matter how many people may or may not book and final price is final price inc tax etc. and I had paid the final price. The difference in final price was £91.96 at that moment, and I would not take it any further and email in the timed and dated screen shot of it being £155 when my telephone call was answered, which I was sure would be logged in the echelons of their massive computer system, if he would just do as their price promise stated and refund me the difference. £91.96.
    He put me on hold.
    He returned.
He offered me a voucher of £92 as a "goodwill gesture".
That should go some way towards paying the phone bill:rotfl:

Sometimes the price depends from the comparison site's engine. For example on JetPeeker.com i have always found some good deals.

seems a bit iffy your 1st ever post is to advertise a website that's only just been registered ?

Hi sorry if this isn't in the right place! Looking to book a villa for 10 with separate flights for either May half term or August next year. It has to be then due o working in a school and 4 of the group being kids. I've only ever booked for the 3 of us before then my mum asks me to sort a full family trip! When is the best time to look for flights? Finding it difficult to find things on the main websites suggested in the guide. We essentially don't have a set place but would ideally fly from Doncaster as we live 5 mins away from the airport. Am I still too early?

DSA airport website http://www.robinhoodairport.com/destinations/ lists possible destinations and if you click on the arrow on the right it tells you who the airline/tour operator is.

The package holiday tour operator flights should be on sale now.
For others you'll have to check the airline's website.
May half term is peak time and for Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun flight combinations the prices rarely come down.

Book direct and avoid obscure online travel agents.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Awesome collection for cheap flights, but you have to add iEagle.com to cheap air flight ticket site in you blog. I never found another cheapest site rather than iEagle.

    Hi All

I am thinking of booking a trip to the Far East for just over a month. When I look at the airlines website direct the fares are cheaper but once you pay with credit card, it adds another 2.5 - 3.5% on it making it more expensive than say Expedia or Lastminute or the likes.

I am wondering which option is better: booking with the airlines direct still, or via a third party website like Expedia? I am just concerned when things goes wrong, it is far easier to deal with the airline directly than via a third party.

    Thanks!

Which airline levies a credit card charge?
Why not show the specific booking in question, as in airline, dates, destination?
That way we can look at the actual ticket conditions.
