Can anyone suggest a really cheap way of getting to australia? I am happy to go via anywhere - would it be cheaper to get a return to Bali or Malaysia and then an onward flight from there?

When are you going and what prices are you getting? £800 is probably about the minimum that you should expect to pay from the UK.

Wait for the next Big sale from Air Asia (register for alerts, flights sell out in an hour of so for flights 6-9 months in advance). That should get you KL to OZ return for £140 ish, after you've got that start looking for deals to KL.
Sub £690 should just be possible if you're flexible.

However, that requires booking connections on separate tickets which could end up being much more expensive if your incoming flight is delayed or canceled. In these situations I'd usually recommend an overnight stay to minimize the risk of a missed connection but then you have to add expenses to hotels, food at the airport, etc. Yes, there may be money to be saved if everything goes right but be aware of the risks. I personally wouldn't take the risk to save £100 but you may be less risk aversive than me.
  • I'm going as well to Australia mate! In september.
After hours and long time in front of the computer  the best flight I've found directly to Sydney is with airchina but for me a bit too expensive.
There is some flights from Singapore to Sydney with scoot.com for 115/140 euros. Now I'm waiting for the best deals to get to Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok, so if anyone find something I'd appreciate it!!
    Let me know :)

Looking for flights after the 17th November (this year) from London to Tokyo. Skyscanner gave me the best price at £364 for one way. Already searched pretty extensively but thought it was worth seeing if anyone had any other ideas.

    Thanks in advance.
  • Hi all, looking to travel to Houston texas around 15th May 2013, to visit nephew,,Any suggestions for two nearly 60yr olds from Dumfriesshire, greatly appreciated. Thank you.( BA flights only about £600 each)
  • hi ppl flying glasgow to malaga 2/5/13 with easyjet on easyjet website it has a box that says promotional codes, anyone know any? thanks in advance
  • Was trying to find flights in August from London to NY then from LA to London. Looked everywhere and cheapest I could find was around £850 and that was with 1 or 2 stopovers!

Then I found STA and they quoted £750 with Virgin Atlantic and No stopovers! AND I can claim the airmiles with Virgin Flying club!

I am under 26 but they're still worth a look if you're older than that! Will definitely be using them again, especially if I need multi-city flights :)
