It seems to me the OP suffered from a could not care less attitude from someone who hates their job.

If you don't like people, get out of customer service. I worked a customer facing job for 12 months and found much of the general public to be irrational, self absorbed and sometimes downright rude but instead of being short, dismissive or rude back to them I found myself another job.

If someone can't take 5 minutes to count out a few coins for a proud child who's saved his own money for a treat then they're not only in the wrong job, they're living life with entirely the wrong attitude.

No, under fire retailer pays off selfish and unreasonable customer for an easy life.

Outcome - said selfish oaf now has a new belief in the saying "the customer is always right". Will probably try the same crap somewhere else to the detriment of people who actually give a toss about others.

Good lord! Over-reaction or what? :(

Even to me this is a tad harsh, I see it as a retailer essentially giving you a voucher to shut you up - although I get the feeling that poor assistant is about to have a pretty rough meeting with management!

    I was supportive of
you until you misread my post in support of you.
I did not call you aggressive, and have removed all my posts as you are an angry person.

Oh noes! Apologies if you have taken anything the wrong way (or i have!) I'm not an angry person, honest!

In fact i couldn't give two hoots about the issue. As i originally stated, i was only posting to say what had happened.

    Big hug?

Game refuses customer's attempt to pay for game in small denomination coins.

    No change there.

Completely agree. Op as much as you were probably proud to see your son spend his pocket/off job money you really should have changed it into sensible denominations first.

    agreed for sure.

Yes, I would have taken the opportunity to teach the child that shops don't like taking a lot of change, you could gone to a coin star machine, or paid it into a bank etc etc, then gone to the shop
