    This can work the other way too - one time some really miserable looking woman almost blocked my path as I was walking into the polling station saying "card please". Trying to sound official, like "tickets please" on a train. :rotfl:
    ...

    I do not exclude the possibility that tellers are also capable of being an obnoxious !!!!.

    And on that subject, it has been reported that some bloke in Portsmouth objected quite strongly to being asked for his number. Punches were thrown. A 28 year-old man has been arrested. :)
  • Not surprised to read about rude people at the poll doors, as I walked up to the polling station a woman (with no rosette or other party markings) barked 'Got your poll card?', I replied 'Yes thanks!' and strode past the pair of them, could hear her mumble something to her little helper. Snarky !!!!!.

    If the one's outside our polling station weren't wearing rosettes you would probably have thought it was something official when they asked to see polling cards....
    I think....

    :rotfl:How can anyone turn such a simple interaction into such a drama? "Can I see your card please". "No". End of, simple. Although it's strange that politicians don't get arrested for throwing punches during election campaigns...

    Every time I go into the high street I say no a few times to the chuggers, market researchers etc, no drama. Only real issue of a similar nature I had was with timeshare touts in the Canaries many years ago, who'd follow you half a mile down the road no matter how many times you said no. I have to admit I did resort to swearing at them a few times :)

    Top line exit poll result;

    UK election exit poll predicts Conservatives will be largest party in a hung parliament, with 316 seats to Labour's 239. Survey by NOP/Mori for BBC, ITV and Sky.

    Isn't 316 more than 306?

    Can it be right??

    More detail from Sky;

    The poll put the Conservatives on 316 seats, Labour on 239, the Scottish National Party on 58, the Liberal Democrats on 10 and UKIP on two. The Greens are predicted to win two seats, Plaid Cymru four and others 19, according to the survey.

    Lib Dems only 10? Green to take another seat?? SNP win almost everything in Scotland.

    I suppose 316+10 = a majority:)

    Well the exit polls seem to show I might be right: far more people voting Tory than expected.

    It may well be that Lab&SNP couldn't form a majority Government even if they wanted to.
