    They ask you.

A normal person will tell them, and obnoxious !!!! won't

Have you ever voted before ?

I've always voted since I could when I was 18.

I've never been asked my register number outside by the party members standing there.

I do give my polling card / register number inside to obtain my docket and make my way merrily into the both.

Maybe it's because I tend to vote between 20:00 and 22:00 that it's been a long day for the party members their past bothering with the incoming voters

"Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, all future General Elections shall take place on the first Thursday in May every five years, barring special circumstances."

Watching the BBC yesterday it was suggested that if we had another election in say November 2015, then all further elections will also have to take place in November!

Would that mean an addendum to the Fixed Term Parliament act to capture the adjustment date to allow a full fixed term to prevail, else would the November (re-)election still hold within the set 5 year period? i.e. The next one would be 7th May 2020/

...All the TV companies have joined forces to compile an exit poll, the result of which will be announced at 10.00pm tonight. Some people must know how that exit poll is going. Watching the betting odds could be revealing. :D

There was a joint IPSOS Mori exit poll in 2005 and 2010 as well. Both times it predicted the correct result.

    Like I said before,

Why is not telling them "obnoxious"? I just say no. It's none of their business whether I vote or not.

My forecast is on ukpr, no 97. I can't remember exactly what it was as I made it a couple of days ago and can't access google docs at work but I did have labour down for most seats - possibly 28x?
Odds are shortening a bit but you can still get 4.8 on Labour getting most seats at Betfair...fill your boots if you truely believe they will...

    Incidentally YouGov Peter Kellner's final prediction is;

    CON 284
    LAB 263
    SNP 48
    LDEM 31
    UKIP 2
    Plaid 3
    GRN 1
    NI 18

    https://yougov.co.uk/news/2015/05/06/final-call-conservatives-and-labour-tied/

Now, that really would be a 'hung' parliament.:)
That would be interesting - just about enough for a continuing CON/LIB coalition with a C&S agreement from the DUP, or a LAB/LIB coalition with a C&S agreement from the SNP.

I did it myself once. As in, sat outside a polling station and wrote down everybody's numbers. (I'm not telling you for who.:))

I discovered that 99.9% of people will happily comply with the request to let you have sight of their register number. The odd one or two will decline. In my experience, the general demeanour of such refuseniks would be perfectly summed up by the phrase "obnoxious !!!!".:)

That's why I said that really would be a 'hung' parliament. I did the same math. As in 284+31+9 = 324 which is really knife-edge.:)

People who do market research in the high street or chuggers probably say the same thing when people refuse them. Only time I'm "obnoxious" is when they don't understand the meaning of "no" ;)

I guess a lot of people either think they are polling officials, or they're just the sort of sheep who'll comply with any request - the sort who'll waste 30 mins doing a cold call telephone survey because they can't just say no!
