The biggest problem with getting mail held back etc is if you and your mum share the same surname? In theory the postman should sort them separately, but in reality there are likely to be mistakes. I don't know about the Mail Collect system mentioned earlier, but I've set up a mail redirection when I've moved house before, and they do send a letter to the house when they set it up.
If the mum's married to the step-dad it's possible they have different surnames. Hopefully, anyway!0

I was a fool to think that this had stopped but it has only carried on, today I come home at lunch to see 3 letters for me, then when I get back home after work, no post and three ripped up letters and envelopes in the bin. Absolutely distraught. Please can anyone give any insight if I can ring them up and get something arranged at my local post office? I don't have the time now to send letters/bills/statements proving I am me and in the circumstance I am in as it will just mean more letters.0

 Easiest way to ensure.
 Apply as per the form.
Contact customer services and explain your situation and request a temporary hold pending mail collect set up.
You can also ask at the DO direct however for security they really arent meant to but many will.I was a fool to think that this had stopped but it has only carried on, today I come home at lunch to see 3 letters for me, then when I get back home after work, no post and three ripped up letters and envelopes in the bin. Well how about reading the replies people took time to give?0

Yes ask at your sorting office, explain its a shared house or whatever reason was given.
Could you afford to move out, would solve the issue.0

Haven't read the whole thread but why don't you just ask her why she's ripping your post up? Was it junk mail? That's really weird!0

In all honest today it was a Vote Labour envelope, my upcoming letter for my dentist (dentist logo on the envelope) and a credit card junk advertisement (the envelope was brown but on the back was a CapitalOne address)

Send yourself a letter, and inside write in big letters:
"STOP STEALING MY POST!!!!!"Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0

Have you asked her why she is ripping up your post?
But to be honest, you're 20 and in full time employment, I think for your own sanity it's time to move out.0
