Well not really cause that is money for the child NOT for additional childcare when you cant be arsed to look after the kid. Your ex has every right to say sorry, I've got plans, find alternative arrangements.

And what about the money she gets in benefits for childcare? Whats that play money?

Your share of childcare costs covers the food, roof, gas, elec, treats, clothes etc that your child uses every month. Presumably other benefits top up the money she needs to pay for the rest. What with you paying the bare minimum.

I'm convinced you are a troll, no one can be this ignorant.

She'll get 70% of the costs, maximum. Why should she/the state pay for childcare when she's your responsibility?

You're prepared to pay £700+ for a holiday or £200 a month for your new girlfriend's car but not for your daughter's childcare?

But when it your turn to have the child you expect the ex to lay out maybe £70 to. £100 for a days childcare. So if you do that once in a month she is down half what you give her already? Do it twice and she is all out.
When that child is with you, on your days already agreed in advance, then its up to you to sort childcare and pay if necessary. If you can't look after the child its your responsibility.
Will you be back on here in a year or so telling us that your ex wont let you see the child, but it will all be her fault of course.
And if you now say " well ex's mother will have child for free, then the ex gets no money towards childcare and you are messing up two peoples lives for those days. Not clever is it.

If your ex suddenly had to work when she was supposed to be looking after your daugher, would you drop everything and look after her for free?

If not, why on earth are you expecting her to do it for you?

So it's not just your ex, but also her mum who have to drop their own plans to care for your daughter when you can't have her at the last minute. That must be incredibly frustrating for both of them.
