Started reading Mr MM but can't really relate to his numbers. Saving 5k a month? Need to look into exchange rate and average income over there otherwise it seems not very comparable.
Thrifty, this was the point I was making earlier in the thread, apologies to labour it, but MMM & the Frugalwoods have these amazing glossy almost lifestyle blog type feel going on, & whilst I totally believe in what they preach, when you find out what they earn, it makes you feel a little hollow.
I think this is why I like blogs like Mortgage Free in Three, & Queen Frugal, because you know they earn a real life salary, & still manage to save.
I agree re the advice too, I think most budgeting tips on general TV, magazines etc are just so low brow for people like us, that they arent worthwhile. I love how Im now a fully fledged hardcore scary person, I used to read your challenges around the time of NSK & think, no way could I ever be like that! but lookie momma I am just like all of the other hardcore turtles now:D" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Anyone who joins in with these challenges is already hardcore! Not just NSDs, or grocery challenge, or lunch to work, or exercise, or using up toiletries individually. But all of these - and more - at the same time! Definitely hardcore, every single one of us.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Woohoo!! SFD number 2!!!!!
Uni for me today. Had breakfast before I left and took coffee and lunch with me. Tonight's meal was a stew from last nights left overs.
Complained in uni about the lack of support we are receiving as well as the amount of lectures we have missed due to tutors being off. Have decided to put in an official complaint, as have most others on the course. We are going to request a partial refund of tuition fees. We probably won't get anything but want them to take notice of how let down we feel as it is our future careers that are at risk if we don't get the grades we need to progress.
Manged to throw out a few bits of old paperwork today. Need to have a big clear out really but am having to focus on assignments at the moment. I have 9 weeks left (less than I thought) and in that time still have a dissertation to complete, 2 assignments to write, a presentation to deliver and an exam to sit. Roll on the end of May!0 -
Another quiet SFD (very quiet as can't move very well today). Sort of floating atm but I have a list so all will be well.

Well my savings will take another hit next few months. Looked into finally changing my name after getting married last year. Wanted to wait till after this Germany trip so I still had tickets and cards in the same name etc in case it takes a while. It will cost me at least £60 on the German side alone due to various fees plus travel with DH to the German embassy in Edinburgh. Grrr...
