Reminds me of "Anne of Green Gables". She tried to dye her ginger hair "black as a raven's wing" & it went green! (Think hair dye's improved a bit since then!)0

There'll be no (deliberate) green & orange!
Think I'll just keep up with the vosene and fairy liquid and LOTS of hair washing...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £50,378.61

I have heard Ginger is the colour that least agrees with being dyed!

LOL this isn't filling me with confidence at going down the self-colouring route! I've always had salon highlights and since having to severely economize have been making do with the "grown-out" look:eek:
I got a cut and highlights free last summer as a model for a student - result! May try to find another deal like that!£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Don't listen to him Hummingbird, I'm not ginger!!!!
Actually, the home dying has always gone fine, so don't worry - it's just this time, I chose a dark brown (instead of the usual 'mid', and accidentally left it on too long...). I wouldn't be brave enough to lighten my hair at home, but never had trouble with the 'covering the grey' issue before.
The student hairdresser thing is a great idea, maybe check with your local college?

Well, I just about managed to avoid what could've been a very down evening last night, so am feeling like I escaped almost unscathed this morning.
It was a well-meaning, but insensitive text from the ex that set it off. I'd dropped O off at his Dad's. I was due to pop back later to drop off something I was picking up for him, texted him to say I was browsing round the shops at a local retail park for a bit and would be later - in case he was waiting for the item. He replied, asking me if I was Ok, because 'wandering round a shopping centre on my own in the evening was a bit of a odd, loner thing to do'.
I replied, a bit annoyed, saying I needed a few things, I don't get chance any other day of the week as I have our son, and it's a whole lot better than sitting in the house on my own getting upset. He is very sociable and goes out to sporting clubs and socialises most nights during the week, so - well - lucky for him, really.
It shouldn't of, but it did annoy and upset me.
So, I did the shopping (£38), dropped his item off, and then tucked my boy in at his dad's house as he was still awake. He gave me wonderful cuddles and put his hands on my face and told me I was the best... think he knew I was close to tears bless him.
Went home, put the shopping away, had a shower and washed the hair with vosene AGAIN to fade it a littletried to phone HIM for a much needed chat, Him didn't answer,
(claims he left his phone in work when he text me this morning), and so then went to bed, shed only a couple of tears and then and had quite a nice sleep.
Disaster averted!! If I'd stayed up, I know I would've been a mess within an hour.
Tonight, Him is home, but I won't see him as I have O tonight as the ex is on a(nother) night out, and Him has his daughter. Hopefully the weekend will bring happier times...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £50,378.61

The state of things at work is getting even more worrying now, so I really do need to focus on my business more, as this could be my only form of income at some point in the future. It could be a really good form of income, but I struggle to allocate time and effort to it presently, alongside working full time and being on my own.
I really need to sit down and develop a set style within my designs, at the moment it's a little (lot!) all over the place in response to what people have asked for, but with time and some work it could be something really good.
This morning I have uploaded a few more simple designs, just to tide me over for now, (Lilty, there's one inspired by you!!!) but I'm hoping, once I'm in a slightly better place, to start some serious work on developing my 'brand' and to make it something I'm really proud of which, at the moment, I'm not.
So, that may be the focus for evenings next week I think...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £50,378.61
