where is cheapest for a contact lenses 12 month check-up?
  • Someone was asking about Filcon II 3 lenses from specsavers, you can also get exactly the same sauflon lense branded as Clariti from Yates and Suddell, slightly cheaper.
  • umere sauflon Filcon II 3 specsavers = vision express clariti sauflon 1 day

these are exactly the same lense. You can also buy from yates and suddell
Does anyone know what briand the specsavers daily disposables in a black box are? When I looked, I coudnt see any name or information other than the prescription.
  • Would it be okay/safe for me to try the friend's lenses even though they have different BC/Dia measurements?

Many years ago, soft contact lens seemed to be available in a range of different sizes but these days, for some reason, it seems more like 'one size fits all'.

As long as I knew the lens were out of sealed packs and roughly the correct power (sight correction) I'd try other contact lens and simply remove them if they felt wrong or uncomfortable.

Daily contact lenses come with 30; state theyre for 30 day usage. but would it be possible to spread it over for x amount of time as i was only going to use/need them for driving which atm i do just once a week

I've tried daily contact lens and I don't find them as comfortable as 'monthly' lens, even for 1 day's wear.

I'd definitely wear them for 4 days @ 4 hrs = 1 day (16 hrs) as long as I cleaned and stored them properly in between time (days, weeks or months). I've done this. The level of discomfort of my daily lens was the same over 4 or 5 full days, i.e 16 or 20 sessions of 4 hrs, before I gave up on a single pair of 'daily' lens. Just be sure to remove them for cleaning or for good, if they feel uncomfortable.

I easily make my preferred 'monthly' lens last 3 or 4 months (solid), over an elapsed time of 6, 9 or 12 months for a single pair of lens. Cleaning is of paramount importance.
  • The price you quote for monthly coloured lenses from contactlenses.co.uk is for a box of 2 lenses, not 2 pairs. I'm sure most lens wearers know this already, but just wanted to point this out. I buy from lensbase.com - £10.50 for 1 box (2 lenses), slightly cheaper if you buy more. Be aware that if each eye is not the same prescription, you would have to buy 2 boxes minimum (2 pairs £21). P+P is included

I ordered 2 True Sapphire Freshlook Colourblends lenses(one for each eye) from contactlenses.co.uk for £12 including postage and I got them the next day. I would def do this again. The lenses are great and no probs with the site.

I've been doing a spot of price checking online as I need to buy a new pack of daily disposables, I've checked everywhere and so far Specsavers own-branded lenses beat all the other online options I've found (which is great as this is who I buy from anyway). I used to pay £11 per pack of 30 lenses, but was only charged £8 for the last box (guess they needed to catch up with the competition).

Years ago I used to pay £10 a month for monthly lenses but realised I only really worry about not having to wear my glasses when I go out or do things like going to the cinema. Changing to dailies was part of my money saving efforts a few years ago and 1 box will last me months now!

Specsavers do more than they show on their website, so don't rule them (or anyone else) out just because you can't find a better deal online. A friend of mine moved from her opticians to Specsavers at my advice and now saves over £10 a month (even despite upgrading from normal monthly lenses to continuous wear lenses).

I wear Specsavers EasyVision Clearus daily contact lenses 14.2 which, according to this website:

    http://www.edinburgh-eyetests.co.uk/easyvision.htm

are the same as Bosch & Lamb's Softlens Onedays.

    I have seen these:

    http://www.eyebuddy.co.uk/product-contact-lenses/323/SofLens-daily-disposable-180?gclid=CIT-qI273acCFchO4QodwGvL-A#IncreaseDiscount

which I am assuming are the same ones.

Can anyone confirm if they are and also if you know if there is anywhere cheaper than this. I think I paid about £22 for 30 days lenses at Specsavers.

    Thanks in advance.
  • Has anyone heard of/used this company?

When I called the agent says they are based in Guernsey so guarantees Iwill not be liable for any customs charge. Also says ships over a few days.
You know what... you can't beat a good bargain!!!

I've not used them, but they are more expensive than Asda for my Focus Daily lenses.
