Contact Lens Cost Cutting article discussion

The Optician has to hand over your prescription upon 'completion of fitting'. In other words, once they are satisfied that the lenses are suitable for your particular eyes and wearing requirements. This may take upto 3 months.
Hope that helps.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

It depends, I work at asda opticians and we always give the prescription at the end of the 2nd consultation if things are going ok then after all subsequent recalls. We have had customers come in to buy from us who have not got their prescription because the local independant doesn't give out contact prescriptions as they are a private consultation and not NHS, they always fax a copy to us though so that we can supply, probably because they know that other opticians wont be as easily fooled as their patient?
Re the blood vessels becoming more apparent, neovascularitis can develop quickly in some patients but if the new lenses aren't working out tell the optician and demand diagnostics are ordered in free of charge until they find a suitable alternate lens, don't be bullied into buying loads of uncomfy lenses.0 -
Hi, I used to pay £13/month at specsavers for my contacts, I think they're the premium ones:

But now I'd like to save money and bulk buy online. However I don't know what their name is- is it these? http://www.asda-contactlenses.co.uk/product/ciba-vision-air-optix-aqua=349
Thanks in advance0 -
They look like the old Ciba Air Optix (i.e not the newer Aqua ones you link to) which Ciba 'discontinued' but are presumably still exclusively supplying SS with. I think you'll struggle to find these elsewhere.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

My supermarket is the best place to compare supermarket prices, if you follow the link it will take to the products (scroll down the page), then you can switch between 4 major supermarkets by clicking on the icon at the top.0
