Definitely get specs as well then - it's a bit like driving without insurance because you've never had an accident - the likelyhood is that you will glad of them at some stage.

Even if it's something basic or dare I say online!

I have to use Toric GP lenses because of my astigmatism. They were expensive at around £150 from Specsavers I think, but they last for two years, so it only costs around £6 a month, which is a lot less than the rest of my family pay for contacts.

When I first got them, the optician also told me they were better for your eyes too.

But I have a question, I tried to apply online for a lense and
they told me I couldnt get a prescription lense online! Something to do with rules and regulations... what is up with that?

Having just found this thread,I wanted to join in!

Tesco have just opened an opticians in my local store.

I have been getting monthly contact lenses by post from D&A for the last 8 years, but I have discovered I can get better lenses cheaper from Tesco. The optician I saw at Tesco used to work for D&A so he knew straight away what the lenses I have been wearing were like and, after the most thorough eye examination I have ever had in my life, he recommended a two week lens would be better for me, and they are around 2/3 the price I am currently paying D&A. :j

The prices in store seem to be the same as on their website and as I'm there every week anyway it's no hassle to pick up my lenses instead of having to mmake a special trip into town.

So far, I'm most impressed - and I saw a great pair of specs while I was there - £20!:T

Hey,

I have worn Acuvue Moists in the past, and currently wear Acuvue Oasys lenses.

I don't want to buy a whole 30 days supply of the dailies, but I need 3 pairs for this weekend. Does anyone know where I can get them in -4.00 and -3.50?

I was thinking of possible having another contact lens assessment for Acuvue TruEye and getting some trial lenses?

Any other ideas?

These dailys are suppied in boxes of 30. You won't be able to purchase less, sorry.

I would like some advice regarding my contact lense wear and eye health. The last time I went to the optician was well over a year ago. My prescription is the same in both eyes, 8.4 -2.00 13.8. I was last prescribed focus night and day (now called air optix), so wear continuously on a monthly basis. I haven't been great at remembering when the last pair were put in but I do change them approx each month, if not more, as on occasions one will dry out and become irritable.

When I have run out of lenses I have been ordering them online with the same prescription, it works out about £11 a month. I do not have any glasses as backup because I am so confident with these lenses and never have a problem ( unlike the 'hard' lenses I was first prescribed about 10 years ago - what a nightmare).

I understand my eyes are important and want to sort something out where I get lenses and aftercare included, possibly a monthly direct debit if thats possible. I dont use solutions because the lenses are continuous wear, although I sometimes keep a small travel bottle in case of getting dry eyes or rinsing a lense (rare).

My optician I used before is the other side of town and there are several nearer to me. So what would you guys recommend?

I am also using 1-Day Acuvue TruEye, was previously on 1-Day Acuvue Moist. Although they are priced at a premium to other lenses, I shall continue to use them as I require the convenience of a daily disposable and a lenses that you can wear all day. I am determined to find the cheapest prices, 30 lenses (not pairs) are currently £17.99 at www.contactforlenses.com, has anyone found them cheaper elsewhere? Thanks

My daughter was recently using these and paid £34 for 30 pairs from Asda.
