Dear Contact Lens Wearers,
daysoftlenses.com is conscious that recent postings by Nedmundo may have caused confusion and we would like to make clear the following:
daysoft’s comfort-enhancing cast-moulded rounded edge is a unique technology first in the global contact lens market, giving the daysoft lens superior comfort.
daysoft lenses are not the same as the Award lens, the design of which is owned by Bausch & Lomb, a competitor of daysoft.
This year a limited edition book ‘Celebrating 60 years of the National Health Service’ was published. daysoft featured as “Best Practice Partner” in the field of Vision Care. Those who are interested can learn more about the real story of daysoft by the clicking on the following link it or copying it to their browser: http://about.daysoftlenses.com/NHS-60-Article.aspx?Site=14&c=GB
Our latest low profile 9mm pack gives daysoftlenses.com the most environmentally friendly contact lens packaging on the market and saves on material costs. It also saves on postage and means the packs fit easily through your letter box, whether or not you’re at home to take delivery.
daysoft lenses continue to attract new wearers from other brands at a rate of thousands per month. These new wearers’ subsequent loyalty to the daysoft brand is testament to the lens quality, their positive experience of dealing with daysoftlenses.com and our commitment to offering Gold Standard Customer Care.
Brand switching of soft contact lenses is a standard practice of the contact lens industry, proven not only by daysoft but by many optical retailers. History shows other optical retailers switching brands time after time, driven by non-clinical factors that can be as simple as: better profit margin of one lens over another; what’s new, etc.
The Optical Profession remains an important route to market for daysoft and opticians fit millions of daysoft lenses in-practice every year. In fact, opticians fit more contact lenses made by daysoft than are sold via daysoftlenses.com!
daysoftlenses.com is a responsible supplier, committed to daily disposables, the safest way to wear contact lenses. We will continue to offer the world’s best value daily disposables at prices which make them not only a healthy choice but an affordable choice for more and more contact lens wearers.
With best wishes,

Errr great....but isn't it a contravention of the law that you are supplying contact lenses without a valid prescription over the internet. I looked at daysoft products but ultimately i am not sure they are suitable for my eyes!0 -
hi im currently paying £15 a month from specsavers for 20 lenses a month, pretty standard prescription and i think there easy vision, also known as focus dailes. is it likely i could buy them cheaper off an online website, or is this probably the best i shall get ??? many thanks xxx0

To be fair Crazy Guy, the issue that I was raising was the supply of contact lenses of a different specification to those specified by an Optical Practitioner, not supply without a valid prescription. Doubtless to say, Daysoft would verify every specification before supplying lenses.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I have tried Daysoft however since I am prescribed J&J 1 day Lenses I prefer to stick to what was prescribed. I must confess – although I am not sure if I speak for the masses- I didn’t get on with the Daysoft lenses and I felt that they were far less superior and the packaging was messy.
Again this is a personal preference and I don’t want to get into a quality discussion- I would say you pay for what you get. My point here is in light of recent court cases. As far as I know- I am prescribed J&J 1 day Acuvue so I stick to J&J. I am not a believer in self prescribing contact lenses and I leave all fitting to my practitioner (who has absolutely no issues with the internet companies like VisionDirect.co.uk or Specsavers web site or any of the Glasses direct).
If I contact a web site they offer the same prescribed lenses but how does Daysoft do this? They are not prescribed my Optician! And my material, water content and base curve (and possibility my eye’s compatibility to the material) are all different to Daysofts. So aren’t they self prescribing ? Secondly why haven’t the GOC made any inroads to find out how safe this is for the public? Could it be that they have an interest in Daysoft the company? Something tells me the only way for Daysoft to sell me a lens is to make an equivalent to J&J Acuvue 1 day in every possible sense! Hey: if they can at the same price, I am a buyer!0 -
As I have said several times on the site, I use daysoft lenses. They're one of two makes I use and I have been perfectly happy with them. Visual acuity is good, they are comfortable, have uv protection - which I look for - and of course they are extremely well priced.
Attempts to discredit daysoft seem to be motivated by fear of competition and are not backed by actual, evidenced proof so should not stop consumers from making free choice. Let's face it, no other supplier comes close to daysoft on price.
Thank you daysoft for giving the contact lens wearing public the opportunity to wear fresh, daily, quality and affordable lenses.0 -
I agree I'd like to thank Daysoft for bringing ease of ordering, simplicity and truly competitive prices to the contact lens wearer. I think other lens manufacturers should do the same as Daysoft and reduce their prices.
If J&J, B&L and the other lens makers products are so great, why don't they put their money were their month is and match Daysoft's prices? If their products are as superior as they claim, then we would all buy their lenses and Daysoft would go out of business. Why haven't they done this by now? Could it be that they're simply making a lot of profit as things are (and they don't want to give it up) and that their products are not so different after all?0 -
Sorry but my question is not answered. How can you say that Daysoft are the same as 1 Day Acuvue? Surely this is self prescribing!
Please can you answer this question!0 -

I'm not aware that anyone says Daysoft are the same as Acuvue.
Just that Daysoft offer a (much) cheaper alternative range, within which you can find a lens with much the same specification. It's up to you, if you wish, to try them and decide for yourself whether they suit you. If not, you buy what you choose.
My opticians have offered me various lenses to try, with slightly different specifications - but of course with the same lens prescription - so that I could decide for myself which I preferred. This the principle that applies to whether or not you use Daysoft IMO.0 -
Treliac,
the difference is that your optician has been around to 'clinically supervise' your trying out of different lenses- if you had a problem with them, they would be able to see you and sort it out.
As you will know from your own experiences, a similar spec doesn't mean similar performance. That's just the properties that you can subjectively assess. Let's not cover old ground here. The website blatantly implies that one of it's 2 lens products is compatible/equivalent/comparable (however you want to word it) to virtually every frequent replacement (non-silicon) hydrogel lens available, irrespective of specification.
It is refitting without adequate clinical supervision. How else would you define it?Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Then why don't the appropriate authorities take the appropriate action?
Daysoft either do or do not trade legitimately. I can't believe that the regulating body hasn't noticed them.0
