Day two of painting garden swing. Boring but easier than i thought. Luckily it is not too hot and there is a bit of a breeze which helps.

I have decided no work today as it is a Bank Holiday, am still deciding whether to mow the grass afterwards.

Hurrah for payday, my wages have gone up by almost £30! The credit card bill for this month and next month are a huge total of £1200!!!!!

I have set all the money aside, after all my other bills are paid i have £300 for food & fun. I will be good this month and only buy essentials so next month I will another few hundred for the extra utility bills. I am not too sure how much my bills will go up by  but i am going to avoid putting the heat on till really late.  It is so frightening for those that are retired or on low incomes, my income is just average. We will find out how the new PM will help us next Monday let's hope they will.

My work seems to be ok in terms of hours so i still have a job which is a plus. I was invited out this weekend but just cannot afford it so I have said no.

  • Good news on the wage increase 👍

It is a worry about utility bills. Sorry to hear you had to turn down the invite to go out. Could you go along for part of the time ? If it’s eating out could you suggest somewhere cheaper or just go for a drink?

It's ok it's my old work place, they only buy junk food and it wont be cheap and i only have £300 till the end of the month. I would rather go out with nice friends from that group later in the year.

  • Hope you can stretch your budget for food and fun this month.

I'm doing the 15 minute heating bursts, when it gets cold later in the year.

Thank you MF. Hurrah for the weekend. Week 2 of work done, there is plenty to do but it is so good to be able to do it at home. I am taking tonight off as  exhausted.

I just saw that my old insurer has charged me even though I cancelled to switch to a cheaper provider. They will refund me in the next 5 days.

Someone is coming to look at the greenhouse tomorrow to see if it is recoverable. If not i have to see if it can be removed.

I am hoping the Government will do something about the electric bills on Monday. We still dont know if work will give us a cash payment towards the bills, it may have been withdrawn lol nothing was said about it today.

Operation Belt Tightening has begun. I just came home instead of going out with old work colleagues. Is anyone else seeing adverts for glam hotels and holidays?  Does anyone know anyone that can afford to go on these?

  • Life is a permanent holiday up here due to location, beaches, water and interesting places to visit. There's only a couple of mates, down south, who go abroad.

Hope your greenhouse can be fixed and work do help towards utilities; mine will but only if it costs more to go into work.

Enjoy the weekend and try not to work.

This is quite a nice weekend before a heavy week of work, it is important that i stay calm.

It has just started to pour with rain. Yikes i was planning to line dry my washing, we shall see what it is like this afternoon. Today I have to do an online medical test for kidneys and then bank admin. Then i can tidy and start work. Man coming to check out the greenhouse this afternoon. I just read that they will cap bus fares in January so hopefully my bus pass will be cheaper?
