Thank you ladies, we are all so pleased that they are offering help! Last work task is done after 4 hours.

I have chilled for the rest of the day and did 10 mins on crossdresser. . I heard that gas & electric bills will go up to 6K last night. lol  It'll be interesting to see what the Govt do as much of the population will be in fuel poverty

I have done a lot this holiday but haven't painted the garden swing. I  wonder what work will be like tomorrow. The plan is to do some  food shopping after work tomorrow as i will have a bus pass. It is overcast outside but still warm.

I'm ignoring the fuel forecasts for next April, May, June as they literally are stab in the dark.  The next main date is this Friday when they announce the October cap.  Everyone convinced it will be £3553 which is a significant rise.  Like you say, the government will have to do something.  Universal credit claimants and those on state pension only won't even be able to make significant contribution to those bills.

The government is taking it's time about doing something. All is well here. I popped into Ald* for a cheap top up shop. I didnt spend much and will post the amount later. I did 11 minutes on crossdresser, Andy says do an extra minute every day which i think is a good idea.

Two days till the weekend. I will have to pay £84 for my bus passes every month. I will  buy mine on Thursday. I have about £100 left till the end of the month.

  • Good idea about the exercise. Build it up slowly. £100 left is good if you are buying the bus pass after payday 😁

In total i spent £24 on groceries this week, then £35 yesterday when a group of us went to the New Forest.  I reckon i have about £50 left. Payday next week, I cannot wait for the credit card payment to go.

I think that British Gas is helping with our gas bills a friend said they are giving us £750 back which is marvellous and we will hear from the new leader next week about how they will help us. I cannot afford it to go up by v much more. I am feeling really cross about this and i actually have a job with average pay unlike the pensioners and those who are too ill to work. Goodness knows what stress they are feeling. Still i suppose we shall hear in a week or so what the plans are.

I am taking the day off today to paint the garden swing, the weather has cooled down a little as I couldnt do it in the heat. It is a v boring job but must be done. I did one coat of the garden swing then fell asleep as i was stoned from the paint.

Oh how lovely a day in the new forest with your friends 🤗

I haven’t heard anything about British Gas giving customers £750?

    Edit - just had a look online & b b c says

At-a-glance: What British Gas is offering

British Gas customers in fuel poverty and with less than £1,000 in savings are eligible

A household is considered to be in fuel poverty if it has to spend 10% or more of its income on energy

Eligible customers can apply for a one-off grant through the British Gas Energy Trust

Since its creation last year, British Gas said "thousands" of customers received average grants of over £550

Over a third of the recipients were on disability benefit, 30% were single parents and 25% had children under five

Hi Skinty, I was just looking it up, it doesnt apply to me. So I am hoping the government is going to do something.

Dad says when the OPEC oil prices happened in 1973 triggering the 1970s economic crash the bills didn't rise as much as now. How are we going to pay £6k worth of bills? i will have to only buy food and nothing else, not even plants!

I just charged £89 to credit card for transport next month. Even that has gone up.
