I wonder how many of these same people complaining about £1.50 a week for unlimited streaming, free next day delivery, free Kindle books etc, are happily paying £500+ a year which is the average Sky package.
It's great that you tell people how to claim the refund, but please, let's not pretend for one moment the blame lies anywhere else except with the people signing up.
Just one small correction. Amazon no longer market Prime as a next day delivery service.0 -

I felt it was my fault so did nothing about it and decided I would use it for a year then cancel. However, I never use the films/kindle book borrowing etc and have found that using Amazon Prime delivery, everything has been more expensive! I feel that prices are 'upped' on Prime - sometimes by quite a large amount so I feel well and truly ripped off.
Then why on earth would you buy them? _pale_
If you feel Amazon are upping the prices, log out, clear cookies and see what price you get.0 -
I signed up for the trial and forgot to cancel until after it had ended. My fault entirely and before I realised I very nearly downloaded one of the free Ebooks that was part of the deal.Amazon were fine,e-mailed me to say there was no charge despite missing the end of trial date as I hadn't used the service and refunded me without me asking. was close though and very nearly the dearest "free book" ever.
As a side issue, when I did use Prime the delivery service was apalling.both orders I made during the trial period took over a week to arrive via Yodel.Anything from Amazon I've had delivered by Royal mail has been extremely quick, maybe a cunning plan to get us all to go over to Ebooks.0 -
I "joined" Prime by choosing free 1st class postage! Found membership could not be cancelled for the free period however found the REAL phone number for Amazon 020 7084 7911 and they cancelled membership at the end of the free period.
With such devious methods, it is no wonder PRIME membership expanded at a phenomenal rate around Christmas and got national press coverage.
I can't understand why I would pay £79 to join just to save postage on a few items over a year.0 -

Out of interest, how long ago was this?
I only ask because everything that I have ordered from Amazon for one-day or otherwise quick-delivery service over the past seven or eight months has been dealt with by Amazon Logistics. I've had them deliver via Yodel in the past but I wonder whether they may have stopped doing so in favour of their own courier service which presumably is more accountable to them?
Amazon Logistics, thus far, hasn't let me down. I've even taken use of the "No-Rush" service available to Prime members which grants you a £1 credit per order to be used on Amazon Music store, Instant Video or Kindle and even though it is a 3-5 day delivery option, in the cases I've used it, items have arrived in two days, again, by Amazon Logistics.0 -

No need, simply switch off auto renew within your Amazon settings. With such devious methods, it is no wonder PRIME membership expanded at a phenomenal rate around Christmas and got national press coverage.
I'm more concerned at you being caught in a true scam if you find Amazon so tricky to use.I can't understand why I would pay £79 to join just to save postage on a few items over a year.
Well its simple. you weigh up the benefits with cost. Benefits>cost = buy0 -

Amazon use whatever suits them. Either by cost, logistical reasons or whatever.
none of their couriers could handle Amazons entire daily volume.0 -
I had the Amazon Prime membership just over a year ago and decided to let it run for the year, however I decided I didn't want to continue with it and as the card I'd used to pay with had expired I thought I wouldn't need to do anything. Amazon however used other card details it had on file for me and took payment from one of those!! Absolutely outrageous. While I acknowledge I should have cancelled formally I can't believe they think it is okay to take payment from another card without my knowledge or consent! I shall be chasing it up!!0

Lol,this thread keeps on giving.
Where did they get those new card details from?0 -
This is a bit of a non story, as mentioned before, a Daily Mail like story, not surprising that MSE are going down that route given the number of people deserting the site and forums in particular.
Amazon Prime trials have been around for a number of years with no fuss until Giles Coren has a foul mouthed rich kid tantrum on Twitter.0
