    If you're trying to be smart on an internet forum, it nay be a good idea to learn how to spell "mis-sold". Just a thought.

    Amazon make it very clear what you are signing up to. Even if you make a mistake and accidentally sign up, you have three months to cancel. They email you to tell you you have signed up and about the £79 charge.
    They make it very simply to cancel - you can even set up a reminder in advance

    I signed up, cancelled on the same day and still enjoyed three months of next-day delivery, Amazon Prime movie streaming, Kindle ebook lending. It's a fantastic deal, those complaining seem to be the ones that are always crying out for compensation for their own stupidity.

    If the only fault you can find with the comment is a spelling mistake then it not all that bad is it.

  • Amazon prime is great usually and I was on an almost permanent free trial for most of last year as if anything doesn't turn up on their guaranteed next day delivery a small complaint to amazon always resulted in another free month! You have to be careful though as mistakes happen, I signed up this time for prime and immediately canceled the trial like I always do so although you still get the free month they cancel it and don't charge you at the end of it but (as usual) I was offered an extra free month (late delivery from royal mail as always) but in doing that they didn't tell me I needed to re-cancel which was naughty so I woke up this morning to a £79.00 charge on my bank account. A simple online chat with Amazon resulted in a swift refund so I don't understand all the complaints when people are too stupid or lazy to read the small print! It happened to me once before when I thought I was still on my free trial and wondered why it was going on for so long until I realised Amazon had charged me about 3 months before! They were under no obligation to refund me as it was my error but they did anyway without a problem.

    You haven't been "tricked" into anything. Now you have canceled your trial it just means they won't charge you at the end of it. You can still get all the benefits of the Prime membership for free until the trial expires.

    Why am I reminded of Basil Fawlty when I read this board :rotfl:

    Such an innocuous article, about people mistakenly signing up to a service they didn't want, and how to the correct the mistake if you have. Gets the reaction you'd expect from Daily Mail readers to a story about an illegal immigrant getting a £1m house to live in!

    I guess if MSE did an article on how to clean a red wine stain from the carpet you'd get the usual sanctimonious brigade with rants like "it's your own stupid fault if you spilt your drink" etc. ;)
  • i never signed up for the free trial but still got charged i got full refund and £30.00 for a apology
