but also the OP has no contract with Amazon, their contract is with poke.io.
Amazon like any company can decide who to do business with and as Amazon sell products that legally over 18s can only purchase then they can place a legal age restriction on membership
the OPs consumer rights is with poke.io and no other company. as stated many times the OP needs to either contact them or just take the £300 lose0 -
the OP NEVER paid Amazon. Their LEGAL (under UK LAW) recourse is with the retailer who they PURCHASED from, so a court would throw it out as its nothing to do with Amazon unless poke.io informs the OP that Amazon claimed the money from them. this is not automatically done when you place your GC into an Amazon account.£300, a 17 year old kid and and Amazon.
I don't think Amazon wins this one, now matter how much you may want them to.0 -
I know you're a big Amazon fan, supporting the £300 theft from a kid's gift card because he added a year to his age.
Even the dumbest judge wouldn't support your stance, and that's saying something
but Amazon dont have his money unless the OP can come back after contacting poke.io who can prove that Amazon claimed the funds from poke.io which i very doubt they have as yet, so poke.io will still have the money0 -

The money on the card has been redeemed on his Amazon account. This means the payment has been physically transferred to Amazon's bank account.
This is the way Amazon gift cards work.0 -
I would phone Amazon & give them the GC number & see what the balance is & if £0, explain what has happened & how do you get it back0

Sure, I'm in favour of Amazon keeping the money. I haven't even bothered giving any advice as to how he may get any money back. I'm assuming you're just writing nonsense to wind me up.I know you're a big Amazon fan, supporting the £300 theft from a kid's gift card because he added a year to his age.

The court scenario as I see it...
OP: Judge, Amazon have my £300.
Judge: So you have given them £300?
OP: No, I bought a gift certificate and they wouldn't let me use it.
Judge: So did you go back to who sold you the gift certificate and ask for a refund?
OP: No, I took the advice of a bunch of morons on an internet forum and came to court.
Judge: Can someone bring me some new underwear for I fear I may wet myself from laughing?.0 -

No it does not, all it means is the amount shown on the gc is shown as an amazon GC on the amazon account, Amazon account dept then at some point in the month will claim all monies from their resellers minus any commission fees in the same way a supermarket treats third part gift cards/vouchers, so do this it is the reseller (poke.io) that have the funds and that is the ONLY company the OP has any contract with.0
