The way I see it, the Amazon gift card (that was bought from pock.io) is now empty, as it's been redeemed on Amazon.
The same way you would redeem any other Amazon gift card.

    Amazon kept the £300.

    They owe OP.

No because the OP NEVER paid Amazon and as Amazon closed the account the OP needs to contact the retailer as they have NO contract with Amazon.

OP can just take Amazon to court to get his money back.

Then Amazon will prove the OP broke their terms by fraudulently opening an account and the court would just throw it out.

We should get out of this thread before someone recommends calling the police on Amazon. Jeff Bezos will be sweating.

In the UK to enter into a Legal contract you must be at least 18 years old
I think you are mistaken when you say that.
In the UK a person under the age of 18 can enter into a contract.

The problem is that a contract made with a person under 18 is unenforcible.
Thus it may well be unwise of anyone to enter into a contract with an under eighteen year old.

Amazon, and others, obviously realise that.

From the information you have given us, it appears that poke.io have decided to take that risk.
Maybe because their clientelle are perhaps not as knowledgable on these things... but that is just a guess.

There probably aren't many people over 18 who have a clue about bitcoins, so they wouldn't have a market.

Maybe wise as it appears the OP thinks its Amazon at fault and has their money.

I may try that myself get an Amazon card from Argos and then demand my money back from Amazon

Is this where we pretend that Amazon's T&Cs overrule UK law?

£300, a 17 year old kid and and Amazon.

I don't think Amazon wins this one, now matter how much you may want them to.
