When you redeem a Gift Card on Amazon, Amazon takes the balance on the card and applies it as a credit to your account, so next time you log in you have a balance to spend. The amount is no longer on the card.
No it is listed on your Amazon account as a gift card as all you are doing is changing from a physical gift card to a virtual gift card.
why did the OP not just order a Apple gift card.
The OP still has not answered how did they pay for the gift card in the first place if they don't have a credit card0 -

They paid using a cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin.0 -
I sympathise with your situation xsellize.
Suppose it's an easy mistake for a naive young person to assume it's ok to open an account without reading all the t&c's.
I'm not sure if getting the money back would be easy if at all.
Maybe you could try writing a complaint to Amazon?

As I understand, he was redeeming bitcoins and/or their equivalent. The OP still has not answered how did they pay for the gift card in the first place if they don't have a credit card
No idea on the Apple thing, I wondered that, it's not like Amazon would be much, if at all, cheaper on Apple products..0 -

i have checked, an Ipad Air is £319 no matter where to get it from (amazon, apple, supermarkets, currys etc)0 -
So there is still a £300 balance on the Gift Card?
Presumably the OP can then use his dad's account to order his Ipad then?
The OP would need to check with Poke.io on this as the GC number has been used and even if the money was replaced on the card, the number will be in the Amazon system as related to a close/fraudulent account, so it would be rejected if tried in another Amazon account and then the other Amazon account would be a risk of being closed.
Amazon do not have anything to do with the GC purchase.0 -
This will (likely) have always been a virtual credit, there won't have been a physical card. Companies like this issue gift certificate codes. Presumably they pay Amazon as they are issued, it will be easy for them to track whether the funds are available or not.No it is listed on your Amazon account as a gift card as all you are doing is changing from a physical gift card to a virtual gift card.
Contacting poke.io is the only option at this stage, anyone who tells OP otherwise is leading him in the wrong direction..0
